I can completely understand this. I had ordered comfy stuff because I thought I might as well get something new for lying around - don't think I will get it now. The shops are going to be seriously affected - no point in buying new stuff if you're not going anywhere.

Yes I'd also ordered stuff on Thursday afternoon (and then saw a thread in the CV section that they closed their website that evening)
To be honest, it may be stupid but I just hadn't really connected how bad it would be to order stuff (making workers go in!) I just thought I was helping support them financially in these tough times. I will say though that I'm find if my items don't arrive for ages.

WombatStewForTea · 28/03/2020 11:45

I bought a load of baby clothes the other day before they stopped trading to use up a gift card. Luckily in the size above or they'd possibly be too small by the time they get here

Feelingfestivenow · 28/03/2020 11:48

TKMaxx have also stopped online ordering

Randomness12 · 28/03/2020 12:18

I think there will be a lot of redundancies once this is all over and we are plunged into another recession and I think the high street will be hit the hardest again sadly. I also wonder what will happen to supermarkets as people get used to the process and ease of online delivery

Whoareyoudududu · 28/03/2020 12:35

Feared this would happen so bought my DD’s birthday presents already even though her birthday isn’t till June.

Stronger76 · 28/03/2020 14:04

Good. Buying clothes from Next is hardly essential...

LGY1 · 28/03/2020 14:17

I placed a huge order as the sale was really good, for DS and baby due in June.
I understand why they have shut but I just wish they hadn’t taken the £500 out of my account & then shut! Lots may go back & ive no idea if / when it will turn up

Frankiethree · 28/03/2020 14:20

I have quite a lot of stuff that I’ve ordered over the last 2 weeks, as my DC had grown out of a lot of their clothes. Unfortunately I’ve got to return quite a lot of it, but not sure how to do this now....

adagio · 28/03/2020 14:23

I get why places need to close and it’s the best thing for their staff, but I can’t help but wonder what will happen to all the stock which might well be ‘out if season’ by the time they reopen ( if they ever do). The recession that we are heading for is a scary prospect - the amount the government is spending coupled with the amount of businesses who are likely to fold / resulting unemployment doesn’t bear thinking about.

Also the amount the kids are eating I’m worried they are about to have a growth spurt - not sure what I will do about that if this really does go on for months.

Splodgetastic · 28/03/2020 14:26

Have they actually stopped trading or just suspended?

Hugglespuffed · 28/03/2020 14:31

Closed due to the virus. They will reopen when safe to.

squiglet111 · 28/03/2020 14:33

I also bought stuff in the sale. It was meant to be delivered on Thursday, and then again yesterday...not heard anything since! So lost in transit somewhere! Can't get in contact to say I've not received etc

WhatTiggersDoBest · 28/03/2020 14:34

What's the AIBU voting for here?

Hugglespuffed · 28/03/2020 14:35

I ordered 2 items, one was due today but I've just received an email saying it is delayed and I'll receive in a few days although I'm guessing not.

flouncymcflouncerson · 28/03/2020 14:37

They said online that if things don’t arrive in a few days they’ll be refunded back to your account. I’d rather have the items :(

Whatsnewpussyhat · 28/03/2020 14:41

You can still access 'your account's if you have one. You could go in and cancel items due to be delivered if needed.

Aloe6 · 28/03/2020 14:44

I’ve got an order that isn’t due for a few more weeks. Would rather wait for it than have the order cancelled really.

grumpygiraffe · 28/03/2020 14:44

The problem is they can’t fulfill orders from their warehouses without the people there standing too close together. They are hoping to start up again in maybe a couple of weeks once they have installed barriers to protect the staff.

newnortherner1 · 28/03/2020 14:48

We can live without new clothes for a few months, and if it protects warehouse workers, so much the better.

Mumto1girl3boys · 28/03/2020 14:56

All orders that werent posted out befors they closed are being cancelled and refunded, for those you saying you dont mind waiting on them arriving
