To ask this about help for the self employed?

I'm self-employed and my earnings have steadily decreased in the last 3 years as I've worked less to spend more time with the kids.

In the last 3 years, I earned roughly 30k, then 20k and then last year only about 9k. So last year I didn't earn enough to pay tax - does that mean I won't get the help the government is offering as i didn't pay into the system last year?

If you did a tax return I think it's averaged over the 3 years so you'll be 9k.

Yes, always do my tax returns! 9k though? I work it out to be 19k?

You should be able to claim around £1300 per month (59,000/36 months *80%)

Thank you - that would help out so much!
