To ask how to celebrate my 1 year olds birthday in lockdown?

I am very well aware that there are FAR MORE IMPORTANT things to think about / discuss / manage at the moment, but it's my first child and understandably all celebrations have been cancelled so I am trying to think of a way that we can celebrate the day and enjoy it just the 3 of us (me, DH and DS).
He won't know or remember any of it, but we will.

Can anyone come up with some ideas to try to make the day a little bit special?

Make cake

Following as it's my first child's first birthday on Thursday! I'm going to bake him a banana cake and just try to make the day fun. Depending what time DH finishes work we might go on our walk together somewhere nice. It's a shame because I had hoped to have family round and make more of a thing of it for him.

Make a cake, let baby help, then set an area up that you don't mind getting messy and put the cake in front of the baby, and let them wreck it! You can take photos, baby will love it.

No need to wreck a whole cake during food shortages! Give the baby a slice and let them try to feed themselves.

Cake is enough Cake

Cake, cuddles, stories, photos.

What were you planning to do prior to lockdown?

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 28/03/2020 08:29

Make a cake, give baby a slice, take pictures as usually fist time baby had tasted cake.

That's what we did 19 years ago before lockdown 😂
