To be really cross with this GP for being so stupid?

My DH is a nurse and is currently working in a GP practice. On Monday one of the GP's went on a home visit to a man with suspected Covid-19 and did not wear his PPE, this man died today in hospital from Covid-19, and the GP has spent the whole week exposing his family and colleagues to the virus - am I right to think he needs a good bollocking?
Absolutely furious!

Yes at least that. One of DHs colleague's is refusing to wear her PPE, she's around sixty and has had previous health issues.

They are lucky to have PPEs. Our GP friend asked us if we could find any at our local builders’ merchants as there were none in his town and none supplied by the NHS. He had had to refuse to treat a child because of lack of protection.

Yes the GP was stupid to visit someone with respiratory problems. Given the symptoms he should have stayed away and do telephone triage. Our GP's wouldn't have put themselves at risk even if they did have PPE.

kazillionaire · 27/03/2020 23:09

Do cross because the whole country knows the risks and he as a GP should be even more cautious, he had the PPE so should have used it, now he is waiting until Monday to see if he has any symptoms...crazy behaviour!

He should have used it. But the PPE that is available to GPs is about as much use as a wet paper bag. As is most of the PPE available in hospitals. We're screwed.
