Not to leave flat for walk or exercise....

I have no outdoor space. It's not that I'm really scared more that I can't be asked. I'm wondering if it will affect my MH if this continues and I don't.

I live alone.

See how you get on. Fresh air is good for you but the 1 exercise a day isn't compulsory.

BinkySodPlop · 27/03/2020 19:53

I'm a massive cba person, who does have access to outside space, and I hate to admit it, but doing the live PE at 9am really does make me feel better. It gives me a routine, something to get up for, and knowing it's live and that 1m+ others are also doing it gives a weird feeling of "belonging". And i never thought I needed that.

How about stand by an open window and do some bird spotting. Or do windmills with your arms, squats etc.
See if you can see any forsythia from your window- big shrub with bright yellow flowers.

picklemewalnuts · 27/03/2020 19:55

You might need vitamin D, so need some outdoor time for that. You could streak at the window, I suppose!

bellinisurge · 27/03/2020 19:57

PE with Joe is great - YouTube at 9.00. You can arse around, take the piss out of your teacher, speculate about whether people commenting on the live chat are fibbing about where they are. And still do some exercise.

LastTrainEast · 27/03/2020 19:58

I know what you mean about no outdoor space. If I meet anyone on the stairs or the path outside I can't keep my distance and then it's mostly narrow pavements.

I'm just not going to bother for now. I have nowhere I have to be and a lot of TV lined up to watch.

It's not like the old days anyway. A PC is a window to the world so I don't really feel isolated.

FleurNancy · 27/03/2020 20:04

I haven't left my house all week as I'm being super cautious due to meds. I've been doing Joe Wicks with the kids and it's kept the exercise ring on my Apple Watch happy. If you're still keeping in touch with real life humans via phone/video chat etc then that should do it? Fresh air isn't compulsory.

sugarlost · 27/03/2020 21:01

Thanks for your replies all ;).

I may give Joe a try...

I am thankful for the Internet and in touch with friends. Sad but looking forward to WFH on Monday for the week to pass....

I can't 'streak' not confident enough lol

I've gone from a very active social life to nothing...like most I guess.... makes you think.

Going out once a day isn't compulsory! We also live in a flat and I went out for the first time since the weekend today. I am exercising at home a bit though.

OmgThereAreNoPlanesAboveMeNow · 27/03/2020 21:04

Make sure to open the windows wide. It's such a lovely weather

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 27/03/2020 21:25

Do keep an eye on yourself that you don't retreat into isolation.

It's very easy to go one day without speaking to anyone or leaving your own four walls. Then three days. Then a week. Then it slowly becomes the normal state.

I have a tendency to it myself, and even though I am a massive introvert and live alone,
I recognise that I need to leave and be outside and speak to other humans every so often (even if I have to save up a reason e.g. a letter I need to post - a trip to the box instead of dropping it off when I am passing anyway)
