When to buy nappies

Baby due June. Luckily we have big items from when our older children were babies such as cot and pushchair but need to buy a car seat, clothes, nappies, bottles, etc. But I have read formula and nappies are hard to come by so feel it would be unfair to buy these things now. But when is it okay but things like this as obviously I don't want leave it too late and be stuck. I started buying at about this stage with my older children but there wasn't a pandemic on then
When would you start buying?

It’s weird that in the UK there is such a large influx of women with no milk or who are physically unable to breastfed and yet this phenomenon is not represented statistically anywhere else in the world.

If the baby is due in June, I wouldn't buy anything until early May. So a month off yet. You will only need one or 2 packs of nappies to begin with anyway - no need to buy loads. I don't understand why some people lay in months worth in advance - just buy them as you go along and then you will know what size as well.

PatricksRum · 30/03/2020 21:32

@ViciousJackdaw it is minimum. It's an insult to people who genuinely cannot produce milk.

Winterwoollies · 30/03/2020 21:41

@PatricksRum you need to stop forcing your breastfeeding agenda and stop passing judgement on other women’s mammary glands. They’re none of your concern.

You hijacked the OP’s post. All she was asking was when she should buy nappies and formula.

Winterwoollies · 30/03/2020 21:59

@PatricksRum also I’m not breastfeeding at all. I’ve chosen to formula feed. Because it’s my choice.

selfisolatingsince2007 · 31/03/2020 01:09

Lol why does everything turn into a debate about breastfeeding. OP was asking about buying formula and nappies.

But its fantastic to know when I give birth there are so many lactation and post natal care experts around. You know, because its everyone else's business where and how women feed their babies. 🙄🙄🙄

@ Duchessofblandings

Oh do piss off, Testing.

What?

PatricksRum · 31/03/2020 08:20

@Winterwoollies She asked if she should buy formula. I gave my opinion. I'm not the one joining on and now attacking people.

Formula feed all you want. OP hasn't decided to formula feed hence my comment.

GeorgieSparks · 31/03/2020 08:55

And the breastfeeding mafia are out in force, again. OP wasn’t asking formula or breast, she asked if she should buy now due to current situation. If there is ample stock when you shop OP , I would pick some up.
