Trivial in view in what’s going on in the world. Guy I am getting to know over text - obviously can’t meet due to current situation - cant get that I work in the nhs and I am not a nurse. I am an AHP and on the frontline too. He keeps saying nurses like you do a great job.

I keep correcting him but he still calls me a nurse. Everyone in the nhs are playing a role and to me it’s not a big thing to be called a nurse, but I have told him so many times I am a radiographer and even explained my job. But yet again another 2 texts tonight saying nurses like me are doing a good job.

Last text I sent was they doing an excellent job but I am not a nurse. He then replies clapping for all the nurses like you.

I give up. He seemed really nice but if he can’t get my job role there is no hope. Am I being unreasonable to ignore him.

If he's not listening to you now, likely he never will. Wave him goodbye

Don't try to explain your job to him, just say "I'm not a nurse, why do you think I'm a nurse?" every time he mentions it. Or don't bother and stop talking to him 😂

I'm a female in the nhs, very much not a nurse, and yet everyone assumes I'm a nurse. Even a female GP I saw a few weeks back assumed I was a nurse when I said where I worked, and you'd think she'd appreciate that women can do other roles. It's bizarre.

It covers loads of jobs within healthcare including therapists etc.

YANBU but before you the whole man in the bin (which you probably should) ask him why he keeps thinking you're a nurse even though you've told him otherwise, for simply no other reason than I'm extremely nosy and people who don't listen just fascinate me!
