Mine aren't allowed to have any screen time til they are completely ready to go including shoes and teeth. And if they don't come the instant they are called then it's no screen time the next day. But I am a notorious dragon!!!

It's like a drug, isn't it? IME though, if you withhold their fix until it is a time that is not inconvenient, it would be better.

Ban it and only let it come out at specific times.

DD isn't allowed her GBA in a morning before school at all for example.

My ds showed very addictive tendancies to electronic consoles over the years. Now I know I am a bit of a meanie but both my children now only have it when I say. Never before school. Not everyday, just when I decide when they have done their homework ect and then never after tea on a school night. Pleased now as ds doesnt seem so addicted and doesnt pester me half as much. I just use it to my advantage. If I am cooking a real difficult meal and I want them quiet they are both aloud it and then its not such a bad thing after all and actually gives me peace when I need it!!
