Sorry posting here for the traffic so IABU , my grandparents are trying to using the Sainsbury's website for food as they are elderly , they have got as far as the 'before you go ' part of the checkout with food suggestions, does anyone know how they can skip pass this to the checkout ?

I can't check the process for them ? Thanks !

Is there not just an option to skip extras/ continue with the sale? :S It's hard to tell without seeing what they're looking at.

Hoggleludo · 26/03/2020 12:56

Have they been registered as vunrable?

emelsie · 26/03/2020 12:58

Hi, yes I'm having same problem as need to see what they are seeing and yes they are registered as vulnerable and are doing their shop online now , they just can't checkout.

Scroll down to the bottom?

SquatBetty · 26/03/2020 13:00

There should be a "continue to check-out" button or link above the food suggestions

tiredanddangerous · 26/03/2020 13:00

There’ll be a button somewhere at the bottom that says continue to check out

LastTrainEast · 26/03/2020 13:01

I think at that stage there's a CONTINUE button on the bottom right on a popup banner. I've only used Sainsbury a few times so I'm going from memory, but the checkout was oddly laid out in my opinion and I was waving the mouse around looking for the 'next' button

If they still can't find it make sure they don't have an ad-blocker that might interfere.

ShellsAndSunrises · 26/03/2020 13:01

@emelsie The process has changed today - if they're not on the vulnerable list, I'm not sure they're able to check out anymore. You have to click through to a Gov site and it checks that they have an eligible condition etc.

Just incase you haven't done that bit yet.

ElBandito · 26/03/2020 13:01

Down the bottom should be a tool bar with next or continue button. Get them to send you a photo of the screen.
I've had a few occasions recently where something like that has been covered by the cookies policy. Check there's nothing like that on the screen needs closing.

Jeezoh · 26/03/2020 13:02

There’s a continue button, just keep pressing that on each screen (there’s usually a few)

Peridot1 · 26/03/2020 13:02

Yes I think you just scroll down to the bottom and there should be an option to checkout.

They might get another suggestions page but again just scroll to the bottom to the checkout button.

starlingsintheslipstream · 26/03/2020 13:03

I think it's just a continue button. It's a pain. There are multiple screens before you can checkout. I shop for groceries regularly and have not checked out a couple of times by accident as I've been in a hurry and thought i was at the end. Just make sure they keep going until they've had their confirmation.

Jeezoh · 26/03/2020 13:03

The site had trouble accepting new payment cards the other day. You can get round it by adding a card to your account, then going back to the checkout stage and it will say “place order” rather than having you input the card details

ShellsAndSunrises · 26/03/2020 13:03

@emelsie Oh I've just checked the screenshots I sent to fiancé's parents... scroll down and there's a continue button!

Dishwashersaurous · 26/03/2020 13:04

There’s continue. You can’t bypass that bit

Wannabangbang · 26/03/2020 13:08

Could they send you their log in details and you do it for them? You could phone them for their bank no at the end. Might be easier that way then you can see how to use the site rather than trying to instruct them

emelsie · 26/03/2020 13:21

Hi , thank you all, it was the cookie banner blocking the continue button , all sorted ! Smile xxx
