Aibu? Need advice

I'm a single parent, work in a GP surgery and my parents are classed as high risk although my mum is still working.

I spoke with work and said I have no one to look after children so can I change my hours and work weekends (catch up on the admin side) but will have to take child with me. They said it was fine and was supportive. I was well aware I wouldn't be doing my contracted hours but right now money is the last thing on my mind and just want to keep us safe.

Come this week they've asked me to go in twice this week short shifts and do the weekend and I'm in all next week for a couple hours a day and the weekend.

We have to walk to and from there. And taking child with me. Do you think this is reasonable.

Are they asking you to do more than your contracted hours?

unsure111 · 26/03/2020 11:00

@WorraLiberty not contracted hours but very close.

I think they've been very reasonable then in allowing you to take your child to work and shortening your shifts.

At least they're showing some understanding of the difficult position you're in.

They want you to take your child into a GP surgery? Are patients still coming in or is all online / phone?

@WorraLiberty I'am very grateful for them being understanding.

@inwood the doors are locked but patients who have spoken to the doctor first can still come in for appointments
