To think the CBeebies presenters are often off key or flat?

Don’t get me wrong, I am no expert at all. But a lot of the songs sung by the CBeebies presenters seem really off to me!

They're children's entertainers not classically trained vocalists

Bienentrinkwasser · 26/03/2020 13:33

I’m 99% sure most of them have been to theatre school at least...

The woman who sang the theme tune to 64 Zoo Lane was soooo off-key.

JuanSheetIsPlenty · 26/03/2020 13:35

Christ. Isolation really does strange things to people.

Imagine caring about this.

Bienentrinkwasser · 26/03/2020 13:36

I just think it’s a bit weird that the songs don’t seem to have been written within the vocal ranges of the performers.

I think it's really nice to have 'real' human singing, it role models that anyone can sing and enjoy it. Quite refreshing in this auto tuned, photoshopped, digitally produced world.

Star81 · 26/03/2020 13:42

It’s probably the point of it. Makes children realise from a young age it’s all about singing and enjoying doing it rather than being perfect

sundayfishfinger · 26/03/2020 13:45

@LittleCabbage

Your post made me do hysterical laughter! I think I have been cooped up for too long Confused

Bringmewineandcake · 26/03/2020 13:59

Although that newer one with the brown curly hair does always seem to be over the top in her singing. You're singing for preschoolers not Andrew Lloyd Webber....

Pinkarsedfly · 26/03/2020 14:01

Haha, this reminds me of my dad ruining Rainbow for me years ago by ranting about Jane’s terrible singing.

He was apoplectic when Rod, Jane and Freddy got their own show Grin

I thought 64 zoo lane was perfectly fine although it had the same tune as Pablo the Little Red Fox “sun and the moon and the wind and the rain...”

MadameMeursault · 26/03/2020 14:04

Are you a bit bored OP?

Snaga · 26/03/2020 14:08

I've always thought it was on purpose to encourage singing along even if you're not great at holding a tune

Flippetydip · 26/03/2020 14:11

My Pet and Me - oh my word - horrific singing.

No OP, YADNBU and I for one appreciate threads that are focused on the minutiae in life so thank you for starting this one!

AwrightDoreenTakeAFuckinDayOff · 26/03/2020 14:13

I like it. What is wrong with normal voices. If all my nephew and niece heard was perfection, they’d have been ruddy upset with my exceptionally poor rendition of one man went to mow or the bus wheel song.

We can’t all sing and sometimes the joy is in joining in and nothing more.

Wetcarparkrain · 26/03/2020 14:16

I LOVE 1) my pet and me 2) the presenters especially the female one and 3) their lovely slightly flat song!

MitziK · 26/03/2020 14:19

I was far too emotional when hearing Pablo the Little Red Fox. 64 Zoo Lane never had the same effect on me for some reason.

Thatbloodybear · 26/03/2020 14:29

I always think that they are in competition with eachother to do the most clichéd cruise singer version of a song, and piss themselves laughing at their performances together.

Sux2buthen · 26/03/2020 14:34

Love them all.
