Yes to

  1. Butter only
  2. Jam then the cream
3.Butter with jam
Wynston · 25/03/2020 20:47

Its butter.....then jam and then cream of course.....in the highly likely event i forget to buy the cream then butter and jam will have to do.

ZigZaggyZoo · 25/03/2020 20:48

Only if desperate but clotted cream and jam is the best way.
Don't start a debate about strawberry or raspberry jam

MustDust · 25/03/2020 20:48

Of course, always butter, that's the base, then add the jam and cream.

VetOnCall · 25/03/2020 20:49

Butter only or butter and jam. Hate clotted cream 🤢

MuddyPuddlesAndPrettyBubbles · 25/03/2020 20:49

Bloody drip feeds, my vote is wrong now. Butter OR cream, not neither, not both. Obviously.

mypoorfurbaby · 25/03/2020 20:50

Only if there is no cream

DappledThings · 25/03/2020 20:50

Yes. Butter, jam and cream. No question!

CherieBabySpliffUp · 25/03/2020 20:52

Butter then jam then clotted cream.
With a pot of Earl Grey tea Brew

FooFighter99 · 25/03/2020 20:53

My mum made some coconut scones a few weeks ago. And she served them with best butter and pineapple jam! They were hands down the best thing I’ve ever tasted!!

DrWAnker · 25/03/2020 20:56

Ach I voted then saw the drip..!
Acceptable scone toppings in no particular order

  1. Butter alone
  2. Jam alone
  3. Lemon curd alone
  4. Butter then jam
  5. Jam then clotted cream
  6. Naked straight from the oven.
spicedemerald · 25/03/2020 20:57

Only butter! No jam. No cream. Now I need to bake some.

LumaLou · 25/03/2020 21:01

Yes to butter, yes to jam and butter.

Cream vs Butter?

Cream all the way

Nooch · 25/03/2020 21:02

Just jam.

doublecheeseburgermediumfries · 25/03/2020 21:02

I'm a mad lady. Microwave for a few seconds for it to warm up and then slather in butter.

HellsBills · 25/03/2020 21:16

I am Cornish, which I think makes me something of an authority on this subject. Jam and cream, in that order and nothing else. No butter. I'm flabbergasted at the suggestion.

MrsClatterbuck · 25/03/2020 21:17

Lashings of butter and occasionally raspberry jam but cream!!!! Sorry but a big fat no to that.

How is it a drip feed? The question is in the title of the thread!

Totally jam and cream OR butter. Butter with cream is beyond the pale.

1Morewineplease · 25/03/2020 22:41

Butter, jam then clotted cream. Any other way is jank.

Awwlookatmybabyspider · 25/03/2020 22:41

Both (jam and butter) are fine on their own but not together. It should be either one or the other.

ClosedTheBlueEyes · 25/03/2020 22:45

Scone. Butter. Cream. Jam.

Saracen · 26/03/2020 00:18

@SwimForBrighterDays

^Either loads of butter on its own

Or

No butter, loads of cream and jam.^

I like the way you think. As Homer Simpson says, "If less is more, think how much more MORE is!"

Yamihere · 26/03/2020 01:18

Yes to butter. And it's jam and cream, not cream and jam. That's like pepper and salt; just wrong.

PennyArcade · 26/03/2020 01:22

Yes definitely butter, jam and cream in that order
