21 day lock down for us (lighthearted)

Our president has implemented a full lock down for 21 days 😳.

Here's my AIBU : all bottle stores will be shut, no restaurants open, nothing at all except grocery shops and pharmacies.

My pay comes through tomorrow midnight. I have nothing till then. How will I get my Friday wine? 😭😭😭. No alcohol at all, tobacco is allowed though 🤔

I've just had a baby, I was alcohol free for 10 months! Now it's gone again. Can't even walk around the block, nothing at all. If we drive we have to be alone except if you have a child.

21 days inside with no wine! Can it get any worse?

I've labeled it lighthearted as I know it's better than people dying etc so please don't get offended. This was purely a rant that now I can finally have my much-loved Friday evening bottleof wine---- now they've closed all alcohol sales 😫😫.

I am worried about true alcoholics though, it's dangerous to just stop.

YABVU to not have emergency stocks at all times.

Do you have any potatoes?😄

Hopeisnotastrategy · 25/03/2020 19:44

Don’t grocery shops stock alcohol where you are?

onelostsoulswimminginafishbowl · 25/03/2020 19:46

Oh that's harsh! We are on full lock down for 4 weeks including liquor stores but luckily our supermarkets are allowed to stock wine and beer. We have a ban on all online deliveries but is that a possibility for you?

isthismylifenow · 25/03/2020 19:50

Where are you in Sa Timmytoo?

I have stock which I can pass through the gate if need be Smile.

Food you will be OK. Wine is an issue.
'n boer maak' n plan.

But in all seriousness, beg or borrow for stock as they won't be selling wine in the supermarkets as far as I can make out

Timmytoo · 25/03/2020 19:51

@Hopeisnotastrategy 🤣🤣🤣 I'm guessing vodka - I wouldn't know how. Nope grocery stores have separate alcohol space which will be closed for the duration of the lock down 😭

Although I did get busted by my mother today. She's making her own sanitizers and couldn't understand why all the alcohol she's had in their cabinet tasted of water. It wouldn't be all the house parties I hosted when they visited our holiday home now would it? They haven't opened the cabinet for years so she was convinced the alcohol had evaporated 😂😂😂

Ah bit far away to make a plan through the gate. Sorry.

Of course it evaporated, Mom 😂

So Timmy. Back to the main issue. The folk in SW are good folk. Someone can surely buy you a dooswyn if they can fit an extra one in their trolley at Tops. As you don't want to attempt Makro. No, that will take you out quicker than the virus. Stampedes aren't a good way to go.

It's times like this you need to call in all your favours. Having a 20 something and a teen in the house, a 5l (let's not mess around here) was a essential item. I'm not ultra prepared either, got it today. Some folks were on their 5th trip in a week. Confused

I think a shout out to our local somerset FB group is in order then 😉.

Unfortunately my one and only is only 3 months old so not much use in this catastrophic situation, 🤣
