I hope it's ok to post here, please redirect me to the correct page if not. I'm just wondering how will people know if they have had it? I've felt awful for nearly a week, but much better in the last few days. On Thursday I had a temp of 42.6 and ive felt so ill, stiff and aching joints, delirious, cough, sore throat etc. But I'm in the at risk category (chronic asthma) and haven't had very bad symptoms chest wise, when normally all my colds go straight into a chest infection. I've been prescribed a course of steroids over the phone which I've taken and touch wood am doing alright. I know no-one here will really know but is it possible to catch corona virus with respiratory conditions and come out fairly unscathed?!

I think it is mostly in the chest, so it doesn't sound likely. But who knows? Good you are recovering well

ProperVexed · 25/03/2020 05:36

I don't know.What did your doctor say?

longtimecomin · 25/03/2020 05:38

I hope people can get tested to see if they have had it so we can understand the true figures and who actually has immunity.

She said to ring back if the temp hadn't reduced by monday, which it did thank god. it's just so confusing! She said it MIGHT be the virus and the children could have brought it home from school. I did the online 111 thing and it said to ring but the line was busy for ages so I gave up.Confused

@longtimecomin I was wondering if you can tell if you've had it already by test. Also can you catch it twice?!

They are currently working on an antibody test but plan to roll it to nhs workers so we ll know who is safest to do close contact work with patients

I have the opposite to you, had a slight cough but not at all bad and then woke up on Sunday feeling like I had a really bad chest infection ( I have never had a chest infection just appear from nowhere like that). Doctor prescribed antibiotics just in case but seemed to think it was quite likely to be covid19, feeling a bit better today but have no idea what I have had.
I know they can't test everyone with symptoms at the moment but I do think it could be so useful soon to know who has had it and can therefore help others with less risk to themselves.
