I'm self employed, make childrenswear. I work alone and have my workshop two doors away from where I live. AIBU to think it's okay for me to go into my workshop and sew all day by myself, then go back up the road (next door but 2) after I've finished? I'm not in contact with anyone, nobody comes to the workshop building but me and I live alone in any case. I can't work at home because of tight space and my sewing machine is an industrial thing, heavy and bulky. What does everyone think about it? It seems useless to sit when I could be getting the work done.

I guess the walk between properties could count as your exercise?

SarahInAccounts · 24/03/2020 19:47

Perfectly fine.

ThroughThickAndThin01 · 24/03/2020 19:48

Fine

If you can't WFH then you can still go to work.

Knittedfairies · 24/03/2020 19:49

It sounds perfect to me.

Travelling a (v short) distance to work when you can’t work from home sounds perfectly fine.

Iminaglasscaseofemotion · 24/03/2020 19:53

Yup I would imagine that would be fine.

Only once a day so she will have to stay overnight Grin

OP I think it fine. It comes under travelling to work when you can't work from home.

Thank you, everyone, this is very reassuring. I don't want to flout the rules but I get really down when I'm not working.

Just go. It's not far and you're not coming into contact with anyone else.
