We started work to replace our roof in December. Due to a series of delays we have been without a roof for 2 months now. Work finally restarted on Thursday with big deliveries due today (nope) and a plan to be watertight by next week.
Our builder is accessing the site by the roof and we've locked the loft off so completely isolated, but it looks like it's banned anyway.
The tarp over the roof isn't designed to be up for months. We are not watertight, already had some leaks, we could end up with serious damage. We also live in a very urban area and ultimately breaking in via our roof wouldn't be that hard.
The guidance on construction is that sites shouldn't be left unsafe so making sure buildings are watertight seems to be essential but this is only for new sites. Working on people's homes is deemed social contact.
I don't think I have an aibu. Obviously I'm following the rules but argh!
