To work from home?

So...I have all the necessary tools to work from home. I work on a building site (in the office) and last week there were loads of new starters, as other sites are closing their doors temporarily until COVID-19 settles down. So they are all coming to us as our doors remain open.
My boss has not asked us to work from home, it is business as usual for us which I find a bit worrying, especially as the Government has advised we work from home when possible. I am not one to panic and make a fuss. I'm simply trying to be sensible.
AIBU to ask to work from home? Also not sure if relevant but I finish work this week, start a new job a week on Monday.

You should t be going to work unless absolutely critical. Stay at home if you can work from home.

Everyone who can work from home should. Every employer should know that by now.

If your next job requires any contact with people, you definitely don't want to pick up the virus now and spread it to a new group.

He won't have a choice when lockdown goes into action, or you'll all be ill...what a knobber!
