To start a street library?

All the libraries are closed here and I'm wondering if starting a Street library is the way forward.

Basically a box of books people in the community can borrow from and return/add to at their leisure.

Is this an infection risk or a nice way for a community to keep entertained in interesting times?

Yes - start a street library
No - don't do it

The virus can last on paper fro at least 24 hours apparently, so while this is a fab idea, please bear that in mind.

It’s a very nice kind thought, but maybe not right now. Apart from any risks of transmission, you’d be encouraging people to leave their homes and soon that’s going to be very unwise/ impossible.
