Log cabin

It's more of a WWYD.

I understand the seriousness of what's going on around us. We've been socially distancing and my place of work has just announced closure. I was working up until Friday. My partner is still working in a place with a lot of passing footfall for the time being.

We are due to stay in a log cabin for 2 nights next week for a milestone celebration. The people who own the cabin are still happy for us to go as long as we don't go into lockdown.

This cabin is literally in the middle of a mountain. Completely isolated. No other buildings around for a couple miles. No pubs / restaurants are open obviously so we intend to take all food and drink supplies with us. Neither of us are showing any symptoms of any virus / cold so we aren't self isolating as of yet. The cabin is quite close to home - about 45 minute drive. We don't intend to visit any towns or shops - possibly a walk around the mountain but also happy just to stay inside the cabin enjoying the view and peace. If we cancel, we will lose the full amount paid.

I feel a little isolated getaway such as this is exactly what's needed right now but really don't want to be seen as completely irrisponsible and adding to the growing problem.

If it was a city break, 5 hours away from where we lived, I would of cancelled before now. I just don't know what to do. AIBU? WWYD?

We cancelled both of our wee trips away, even though you don't intend to use the shops/petrol stations you might have no choice.
The owners should be refunding you or transferring it to later in the year. The are bring irresponsible encouraging you to travel.
