Please give out about your good old fashioned CFs etc. CV-related is -unavoidable- fine, even hearsay will do. I miss them and could do with focusing on something else for a while!

Same! Really need a parking thread and a good diagram.

SauvignonBlanche · 22/03/2020 18:31

There’s a good CF bin thread emerging grin]

DeadBod · 22/03/2020 18:36

We're going to get a very different vibe on the active threads. What will the offended be offended by? There will be none of the usual seating on the bus threads, savings seats in cafes etc. Even the shopping lists will be boring, just scribbled notes containing toilet rolls and pasta.

duvetaddict · 22/03/2020 18:47

There’s a good CF bin thread emerging grin] Where is it? I need distracting!! Smile

ScrumptiousBears · 22/03/2020 18:53

I've missed these although I've noticed I've been on here less because of it. Grin

LakieLady · 22/03/2020 19:26

We could do with an update on the parking situation in Alphabet Street,

Outtedagain · 22/03/2020 19:33

Aibu to be annoyed that my ndn has put a massive potted olive tree on the edge of their boundary so I can’t drive across their newly paved drive to make parking my new Jaguar easier for me. True story .... blatant reverse.

Ionacat · 22/03/2020 19:40

Alphabet street is still going strong in classics!

SauvignonBlanche · 22/03/2020 20:58

here you go @duvetaddict, it’s a slow burner.

youwouldthink · 22/03/2020 21:00

And the mother in law threads. . Not to mention a wonderful Mauii one!

combatbarbie · 22/03/2020 21:13

With everyone supposedly WFH etc I expected an influx of parking war threads!!!!

EL8888 · 22/03/2020 21:16

@combatbarbie totally. Most of the cars on our road haven’t moved in the past week

duvetaddict · 22/03/2020 21:26

@SauvignonBlanche thanks!

Vectura · 22/03/2020 22:38

I’ve got a small one for you- we moved house 2 weeks ago Friday, and our moving/packing service is yet to pick up the boxes. I sent him three texts last week and he ignored them, until I messaged Friday asking if he still wanted them- he texted back immediately saying he would get them ASAP, then nothing.

I’ve messaged again this evening and he’s replied asking me to drop them to him this week in a town half an hour away. There are a shit load of boxes, way too many to fit in my car, and besides I’m working full time. But regardless, I can’t believe he’s asking me to drop them off?!? Cheeky fucker!!!

Soontobe60 · 22/03/2020 22:42

Text him back and tell him they're going on Facebook marketplace!

Vectura · 22/03/2020 22:49

I’ve replied telling him that we can’t do it as we are working, and that regardless they won’t fit in our cars. He’s read and not replied.

If he’s not replied by midday tomorrow I’ll tell him they are going to a woman at the end of the road who is moving house and has already asked if we have boxes.

I’m also going to text the estate agent who recommended him and tell him what he’s playing at!

Nicketynac · 22/03/2020 22:52

My three year old was irate about a car parked outside our house yesterday. Plus someone has been parking over the dropped kerb of the empty house across the road which irritates me slightly.

JustInCaseCakeHappens · 22/03/2020 22:52

they will be replaced by threads about noisy/inconsiderate neighbours.

LangSpartacusCleg · 22/03/2020 22:55

YANBU. I was even tempted to post a Brexit argument thread yesterday (but I restrained myself).

Dotty1219 · 22/03/2020 23:02

I have some great cf neighbour stories for you 😂
Filling up our bins when we first moved in.
Randomly texting us when they go away telling us to feed the cats.
Getting 50000 parcels delivered to us and not collecting them. Then trying to blame us for it 😂🙈
Visitors screeching until the early hours and parking in front of our drive
Trying to get us to pay halves for a gate that had 0 benefit to us (gate shut and locked from their side and people still had to walk through our garden to get to them)

The best one was an elderly neighbour who liked to be helpful (but really wasnt) one day he knocked on my door proudly announcing he had fixed the scratch on my car. What he actually did was paint over my WHITE car, with cream bathroom emulsion.
He also used to purposely wake me up knowing I'd been on nights, so he could talk to me. If I didnt answer he would check to see if my car was there an practically put his fist through the door until I answered. Once I tried to wait it out, 20 minutes later he was still going and i gave up.

Any of those count?

fizzysister · 23/03/2020 00:12

@SauvignonBlanche that's a good'n!

@Dotty1219 where do you live to have so blimmim many?!

One set of cf at one side of the house. One bizzare car wrecker at the other. First list is just from one set of cf!

theoldtrout01876 · 23/03/2020 00:14

A colleague of mines elderly MIL mentioned to her next door neighbor that she was thinking of moving. He said he would like to buy the house. Simple discussion, no deals struck or anything as she was just thinking about it.
She was going to do up the kitchen and bathroom etc to get it in shape for selling and he told her not to as it would put the price up to more than he wanted to pay.
She came home one day and he had taken the entire hedge out that separated their back yards as he was having the front one trimmed and this would save him having to pay them to come back.

She decided to stay put and do a load of renovating instead and had him at the door insisting that he had a say in the new kitchen cabinets and flooring and the new bathroom as he was going to buy it so needed to have input.
My colleague had to have words.

Jesus theoldtrout that is a CF!

Personally I’m happy (for real life) and sad (for my own entertainment on these threads) that for at least 12 weeks no one is going to be able to scrounge drinks all night at the bar, fail to pay the tip in a restaurant, turn up empty handed for a dinner party and fail to reciprocate hospitality, take the piss with childcare, demand favours they’ve no intention of returning, or even just repeatedly steal the use of someone’s Mexican house. MN is going to be much the poorer and I will run out of historic threads soon, if I haven’t already.
