You can still go for walks. Even if it,s round the block to buy a pint of milk. Ect. Encourage oh to as well but at different times to you.

And your mum ain't that old

Choice4567 · 21/03/2020 21:31

On the face of what you've said, why are you so worried about your mum? Yes it would be preferable for everyone to stay in but some can't. Does she have health problems?

The rest does sound shit though, so sympathies

DwayneBenzie · 21/03/2020 21:34

What exceptionally uncaring responses.

Outtedagain · 21/03/2020 21:37

How awful, keep your distance from him, it’s the rules!
Try to be patient if you can for your 9 year sake. It won’t be forever.

DwayneBenzie · 21/03/2020 21:37

It is shit OP. It is shit even for those with adequate living arrangements. I can’t even imagine how shit it is for those in the process of breaking up or with abusive partners or dysfunctional families or inadequate childcare or one of a million other things that really start to weigh on you in this kind of situation.

All I can say is - you’ll get through this. People may have less than optimal food, living arrangements, etc in the meantime but you WILL get through this. As for your ma, at some point you have to switch that part of your brain off - she is going to do what she is going to do and your worry won’t help at all so please conserve your emotional energy!

I keep saying to people, I feel sorry for anyone isolating with kids in a flat. Like pp said try to go for walks. Are there any large open fields near you? Maybe a ball for 9 year old and time it for 9 month olds nap (if they will sleep in puschair?).
