Newborn photo shoot

Mum2be12 · 21/03/2020 20:06

Was really looming forward to doing a newborn photo shoot and I’m so sad I may not be able to. Is it a really bad idea to still do one with this corona virus issue?

Sorry but yes , any social gathering that's unnecessary should be avoided , take a load of photos with your phone and enjoy you new baby

Summerdays2014 · 21/03/2020 20:08

Yes

EmeraldShamrock · 21/03/2020 20:08

One word : Italy.

spatchcock · 21/03/2020 20:09

The photos always look so cheesy. You had a lucky escape!

ChickLitLover · 21/03/2020 20:10

🤦🏻‍♀️ my face and palm are starting to hurt.

Everyone is sacrificing the stuff they want to do. You need to as well.

Pop baby into a plain white babygro, lay them gonna nice blanket, and photograph them. Each month, fresh white babygro onto the same blanket and take another.

In 12 months time you will have a wonderful set of images and won't even remember missing the shoot.

Figgygal · 21/03/2020 20:11

Yes you should avoid Generally not just due to CV

Was really looming forward to doing a newborn photo shoot in the middle of a pandemic and I’m so sad I may not be able to expose myself and my newborn baby to a deadly virus.

Yes it is a really bad idea to still do one with this corona virus issue.

Hillocrew · 21/03/2020 20:13

Go for it. Why not. Sure it's not as if there's an unfolding crisis going on at the minute or that we've been repeatedly told ... essential things only

Why aren't people getting this

GrumpyHoonMain · 21/03/2020 20:14

Are Bounty still on the wards if so you could just get them to do jt

ItsAllTheDramaMickIJustLoveIt · 21/03/2020 20:14

A truly awful idea given the circumstances and as someone else said before, the pictures are something you can easily replicate yourself at home anyway. Without risking your family’s health.

TheWordmeister · 21/03/2020 20:16

Of course it's a stupid idea.

Take your own photos, they'll be much nicer than those awful weird posed ones anyway.

Winterwoollies · 21/03/2020 20:16

You probably have a phone, you have some blankets, you can probably mock up some props... have a look online for some inspiration and have a go at doing one yourself. I imagine you’ll have a lot of fun doing it and the pics will be hilarious.

Are you for real?

PardonWhat · 21/03/2020 20:21

Ignore the fucking nasty remarks.
I understand exactly why you must feel like you’re ‘missing out’ as such. I cherish my newborn pictures. (And no - they’re not cheesy if you get a half decent photographer).
But yes - a ridiculous idea at the moment. Could you try googling ideas for at home pictures? Maybe in portrait mode on your iPhone with a nice neutral backdrop and natural light? A light rug to lie baby on?
Congratulations btw Flowers

PardonWhat · 21/03/2020 20:23

GrumpyHoonMain

Bounty shouldn’t be, no. They’re not essential workers by any means.
It also shouldn’t be encouraged to give cash to such vultures praying on people in vulnerable times waving CH2 forms like they’re the second coming of Jesus Angry

lowlandLucky · 21/03/2020 20:24

ChickLitLover i feel your pain

HerRoyalNotness · 21/03/2020 20:24

So one photographer and your family? Or mum dad, baby and maybe sibling? I’d do that.

Bubble77bee · 21/03/2020 20:25

Please don’t be upset by the unnecessarily nasty replies. Unfortunately it would not be wise to go ahead with the photo shoot, but you are entitled to be upset at missing out on this. Wishing you all the best with your lovely baby.

These ‘vultures’ often provide parents of stillborn / dying babies some of the only photos they will ever have of their babies, and for free too. So lets not tar everyone with the same brush.
