Foolproof sofa recommendations

Will be soon moving house from a rental and have minimal/no furniture. Sadly it looks like my plan of merrily browsing furniture shops will be impossible for a few months at least.

I’m happy to buy most things online but not sofas/armchairs unless they’re recommended.

Anyone recently bought a very comfy sofa (ideally washable) that they’re recommend and/ or comfortable chairs?

I have an ikea stocksund. Covers wash and tumble dry and you can buy replacements. It’s very comfy. You can order IKEA online in Ireland but I’ve heard that’s not the case in every country.

The Ikea Ektorp (sp??) comes highly recommended. My MIL has one and its been in daily use for about 15 years and still going strong even with a few over excited terriers rampaging about the house! The covers are washable and you can buy new ones if you fancy a change. All in all, if you like the look of them, it's what I would go for.

We recently got an IKEA Landskrona which is leather so easily washable and we love it! Would definitely recommend :)

Loaf Pudding sofa. The Clever Velvet fabric still looks like new 6 years later. Expensive but truly comfortable and beautiful.

Thanks all! Will look into Ikea then.

I always recommend Ikea. Our sofa is about 15 years old and still going strong. We recently bought new covers from Bemz, a company who specialise in making covers for Ikea furniture, including designs that Ikea stopped selling, like our Karlanda sofa.
