To ask for your cold remedies

I have had cold symptoms for nearly 2 months now. Its definitely not the Covid 19 virus. No cough or temp.

But I have had a runny nose, sneezing alot and just generally feeling drained. For 2 months!

So I'm looking for your cold remedies as I'm sick of feeling sick :(

Not mine but Mark Twain's 3 hat cure (he was a writer but not a doctor of medicine - so beware):
1.You need a large hat.

  1. Place this at the end of your bed.
  2. Snuggle down with an impressive amount of vodka (or if you are a regular mumsnetter: gin) and drink this until you can see 3 hats.
  3. When you wake up the next day your cold will no-longer be of any concern.

If you seem to have had a cold for 2 months then what you probably do have is children.

(They are generous with all bugs and can usually keep a parent going all winter.)

Hot water with lemon or lime juice, honey, and ginger - either ground or fresh. Best of you can let the ginger steep or even boil it before mixing in the honey and lemon.

Eat plenty of chilli, garlic, turmeric, ginger, chicken stock.

Saline nasal spray/steam.

Sleep.
