To think once you have apologised it’s up to the other person

If you text someone to say you are sorry of upsetting them, if they just ignored your message would you leave the ball in their court?

Maybe. Depends what you did & whether you really meant your apology.

Justkeeprollingalong · 20/03/2020 21:31

Yes

AnneLovesGilbert · 20/03/2020 21:32

Yes. But how good was your apology?

“I’m sorry for what I did” or “I’m sorry you were upset”?

MotherOfAllNameChanges · 20/03/2020 21:32

I guess they are either busy or still cross op 🤷🏽‍♀️

WitchQueenofDarkness · 20/03/2020 21:33

No one has to accept an apology.....

Ragwort · 20/03/2020 21:34

Yes ... let the other person have time to process your apology. Just because you have said ‘sorry’ it doesn’t automatically make everything ‘alright’. And what exactly are they meant to say - do you want to be thanked for apologising? It might just be that even though you have apologised, things were said or done that can’t be forgotten or forgiven and it may have affected the future of this friendship.

Slipslide2020 · 20/03/2020 21:40

I 100% mean the apology, it was something I said rather than did and it wasn’t intended to upset.

I’m not looking for a ‘it’s all ok’ reply just some dialogue.

Most people are pretty distracted and juggling a lot at the moment so give them time.

SuburbanFraggle · 20/03/2020 21:47

An apology is not a magic word. Even if you're sorry things never go back to how they were and sometimes people have just had enough of your bs.

Soubriquet · 20/03/2020 21:49

Depends what you did

Are the last biscuit...yeah a sorry will probably work

Slept with their partner...not so much

WelcomeToTheAssEatery · 20/03/2020 21:49

Totally agree. Don’t send any more messages. It is up to them x
