If parents are expected to work and nursery is closed and have managed to arrange all the work/childcare for 3 days between themselves but are using a babysitter for two days for their 4 year old and 10 month old are they being selfish and unreasonable. If they don't have a babysitter so can't work what can employer do?

Missed 'home' at the end of the title...and the use of commas and fullstops too by the look of it!!

Is who being selfish and unreasonable? The nursery or the parents?

For employing a babysitter when supposed to be socially isolating

I think home based childcare (eg nannies) are still allowed. We are still having our nanny work. I understand childminders are a different kettle of fish though due to mixing of children.

Okay thanks, babysitter is a member of staff from nursery who is now out of work and will only be looking after these two DC at the DC's home

Tempjob · 20/03/2020 20:46

Ah okay, if I were you I would book babysitter for more days than just three!! :-)

Can't afford to with losing the 30 hours free childcare for eldest and the govt top up in child tax account
