Is the Govn doing anything for Uni students?

Hi. Does anyone know if there is any help for students? my friend is a postgrad and has no children. They receive a small bursary for the course. She was practically working all available hours but that position has come to an end today due to the virus. Her wages covered rent (social h). She's not due for another bursary until late April (if they don't make changes). She has never claimed and utterly confused if she could get assistance with her housing costs.

Does anyone know what she should do? her uni is also closed currently. Nothing has been set for online learning as of now.

Thanks

Her uni should have a hardship fund. They all have one and it's paid for by the government.

Tell her to search for "hardship fund" on her uni website. She will have to apply for it though and the money won't come through instantly.

This isn't a quick fix either but could she get a postgraduate loan? It would also be a good idea to e-mail her tutor to see if they know of other sources of help.
