I’ve felt on and off for a while now, had the feeling hot (never registered a temperature though) a brief sore throat and a tight chest on and off since last Friday.
The last couple of days I’ve had diareah (sp) and this morning woke up feeling really sick and just quite strange? Hard to explain, but feels like I’m dizzy and a bit out of it. Chest still tight, do I call the hospital, do I wait 🤷‍♀️
Been inside since last Thursday also, so won’t be going out.

Why would u call the hospital?

If you have no cough or fever it’s likely not c19 but if in doubt just self isolate

I’ve had a streaming cold all week and a bad tum yesterday- c19 doesn’t stop other normal bugs and viruses being around

Confusedasusual78 · 20/03/2020 09:15

I’ve had an intermittent dry cough, feel like I have a fever but doesn’t register as one. I don’t know, just feel odd, bit strange, so you’d just leave it then?

Don’t call the hospital, advice is to self isolate if you have symptoms. Only call the hospital if you genuinely need emergency help for example you can’t breathe

dontdisturbmenow · 20/03/2020 09:46

I've felt exactly last this over last weekend. It was gone by Tuesday. Mild case of covid or another bug, who knows but definitely not requiring calling anyone at this time.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 20/03/2020 09:53

Due to the overwhelming and understandable focus on Covid-19 it is easy to forget that it is usual to have colds, flu, D&V, Noro at this time of year. Many of us would be mildly unwell at this time of year anyway.

If you start to feel really unwell then go through 111 online. However, ask yourself if you actually have the main symptoms too.

Ohtherewearethen · 20/03/2020 10:21

I've been feeling the same and wondering the same. I think it's natural to think of Corona when it's all we've heard about for the past few weeks. I think the NHS has been very clear on the most common symptoms though - a rapidly worsening cough and a fever being the most obvious ones. As you have neither it'd suggest you don't have Corona. What would you expect the hospital to do anyway? Send someone round to give you a paracetamol? Or would you rather pop in and take up a bed?

Confusedasusual78 · 20/03/2020 10:36

No, just wanted to be sure I’m not sitting here, when I should be doing something about it..bit paranoid I guess, the chest thing is odd, not experienced it before

Why would you ever call a hospital about this, let alone at the moment? You don't even have a temperature. Read the guidance, do the online questionnaire, and even if you did have more relevant symptoms, it tells you what to do and that doesn't involve bothering a very busy hospital, not until you really need to be, you know, hospitalised.

Confusedasusual78 · 20/03/2020 13:11

@Pinkdelight3 You sound nice.

I’m not talking about the hospital, I’m not in the uk, we have a helpline here to call to see what they say. I wouldn’t call a hospital.

Merryoldgoat · 20/03/2020 13:25

You asked in your very first post whether you should call the hospital.

Pinkdelight3 · 20/03/2020 13:28

Sorry for not realising you weren't talking about the hospital when you talked about the hospital Confused

Porcupineinwaiting · 20/03/2020 13:29

@Confused well you clearly have something. So rest, drink plenty (hydration is very important) and eat a little too if you can. Treat pain or fever with paracetamol not ibuprofen. Use a humidifier or a steamy bathroom to help with breathing and coughing things up.

If you breathing deteriorates to the point when speaking is becoming difficult, or if you get a temperature above 39 that doesnt respond to paracetamol, then ring for help.

Yellowcakestand · 20/03/2020 13:37

Self isolate for 7 days, day 0 being the day the symptoms started.
I work for the NHS and we are telling our staff not to come back until 48 hours after the temperature has gone, no matter if the still have the cough, after the 7 days. Guidelines are currently that anyone else who lives in your household has to keep isolated for 14 days from the start of your symptoms. If they then develop their own symptoms, the clock resets to 0 from that date and they isolate for 7 days from then.

Porcupineinwaiting · 20/03/2020 14:27

If you have corvid 19 then it sounds like you may be heading into the second phase of the virus. So rest, drink , eat if you can, steam and watch your breathing. Flowers

Confusedasusual78 · 20/03/2020 15:22

It’s a hospital helpline or just helpline, sorry I didn’t state that correctly, wasn’t thinking.

Thank you for the helpful medical advice @Porcupinewaiting, @Yellowcakestand etc x

Why are so many of you so unsympathetic towards someone who sounds really sick and scared? It is all much worse for people on their own.

I hope you feel better soon but you have trouble breathing, go to hospital.

Mummyshark2018 · 20/03/2020 16:09

Somebody shared this with me

Should I be worried?
Isthistrueor · 20/03/2020 16:11

Self isolate for 7 days, 14 if you don’t live alone (and whole family needs to isolate).

Diarrhoea is a symptom, sadly not one that has been focused on anywhere near enough. Coupled with the fever and intermittent cough, chances seem fairly high it’s covid.

ShastaBeast · 20/03/2020 16:12

Are you in a hot spot for cases? I suspect it’s far more wide spread than most governments are letting on. I ignored similar symptoms until DH and my eldest started with the cough. Mine has got worse and feels sore inside the trachea. I’m in London.

DrinkSangriaInThePark · 20/03/2020 16:13

She doesn't have a fever!
