Can't go back

Been off work for about a six weeks with depression, still not in a good place but due back next week so my anxiety levels have shot through the roof at the thought of going back to work but am worried if i request another sick line it will be the final nail in the coffin (my performance at work was really poor due to my mental heath issues)

This coronavirus situation is exacerbating my anxiety with all the job losses and uncertainty but fact of the matter is my job is the main source of my depression and stress PLUS I work in a call centre with over 500 staff so prime ground for the virus to spread

What should I do!?

You can't go back. It's making you ill being there. Ask your doctor to sign you off again, if they let you go from your job them claim benefits and concentrate on getting better.

Agree.
This is certainly no good for your already fragile mental health.
Doctors appointment as soon as you can.
Good luck and stay safe op.

I think with the current climate, the company won’t have difficulty finding your replacement. Going sick sounds far better than resigning as an option. I hope you’re feeling better soon. Smile

If it's your job making you depressed then leave your job for FFS - stop putting additional pressure on your colleagues who have to pick up the flack because you're not there
