Firstly, I don't want to take anything away from front line workers.
But it's getting to me now that they're being offered perks like free food.
Me and my husband work in the Theatre industry and have lost all our income overnight. I would like some free food too. I fact, I would like a job with the NHS. Actually, any job would be good right now.
There. I've said it.

It doesn't matter who you are or what you say because people love op bashing on here. I work for the NHS myself and have done for almost 8 years, I absolutely do not think I'm more deserving than anyone else, I know there's many people out there that work a lot harder than myself and the people I've worked with. Maybe be view is different because I've worked alongside so many uncaring, shocking nurses who do nothing but complain about patients, make jokes about them and have a very unpleasant way of speaking/treating the patients. I've also witnessed my elderly grandfather in the same hospital I work in being treated awfully but a staff nurse. They don't want to be there which affects the way patients are treat. I know surely (hopefully) they can't all be like this - but this is my experience. My MIL works in a school and the way she has been treated by clinical NHS staff with regards to their children's childcare amongst this is god-smacking. They chose to do this role, please leave if you are desperately unhappy and can't treat the patients with basic respect and dignity.

DH frontline NHS. DH has a developed a weak chest over Winter, probably bronchitis but undiagnosed due to current pressure on healthcare. He is now self isolating due to symptoms. He will soon have to return to work, fuck knows if he will be ok. I don't think he wants a slice of pizza haven't seen him eat properly for days.
