All I’m seeing is screenshots of ridiculous eBay bids on toilet paper and my Facebook market place is covered in expensive own brand pasta..

AIBU that of you are reported and caught re-selling a necessity such as toilet paper, baby milk, food ect. for more than the original retail price, that they should be fined? Most things have ‘not for resale’ written on and people are preying on the vulnerable. They are using peoples disparity to make a profit and it is so so wrong. Communities should be coming together at times lol these, not robbing people.

I would be in tears if I found out my gran, mum.. anyone! Had spent a ridiculous amount of money on a packet of pasta because everyone has stock piled and they felt it was the only option.

The people who are willing to pay £10 for a bag of pasta are working on the same mentality as those who are selling it. Neither your mum nor your gran needs to spend a lot of money on a bag of pasta. There is still food in the shops. Supply chains are still open. China was under lockdown for weeks and there was still enough food. We are not going to starve to death.

It’s appalling that people are doing this, they’re selfish, nasty scum frankly and I hope they will be punished harshly for it.

I mean I’ve even seen it for baby formula - how low can you get?

We live in a capitalist society where the only thing that matters is yourself.
Tories have always been in favour of private enterprise and are therefore unlikely to legislate against this.
We all had the option to recently vote for a more socialist society - too few people took that option.
Seriously - what do people expect?

And - no I don't engage in these behaviours.
