Faint positive test

Hi everyone. I am due my period today (19th March)
However I took two pregnancy tests on Monday evening and they both had a second faint line. The next morning I got a negative. And then that evening I had some pink and red slimy CM (sorry tmi). Been spotting on and off and decided to take another test last night and this morning. Both have very faint thin lines.
How far can I trust these tests? Or am I having a chemical pregnancy? My period has not started yet. But I have an upset tummy and cramps so can’t tell what’s going on.
I have had a massive headache for a week and just feeling generally unwell.
Any help would be amazing. Even if it’s just a chat 😊

Generally a positive is a positive 😊 So congrats!

A positive is a positive. But I would suggest that you are very cautious that it’s a sticky bean. I don’t want to burst your bubble. Bleeding is common in early stages, but it’s could also mean that it’s a chemical. Take each day as it comes, so a test every 48 hours or so, if the line is getting stronger, and no heavier bleeding, it would be an indication that all is going well. Take care

And remember chemicals are far more common than people realise. A lot of women just think there period was late, as they never tested.

Thank you for your advice. I’m not necessarily too hopeful to be honest. I had a faint positive this morning that you don’t even have to squint at. My period has been coming bang on every 4 weeks for this last while. And it is immediately heavy. However I’ve only slight spotting. I will test again at the weekend if AF still hasn’t arrived. What do you think? Xx

The top two strip tests have faint second lines. And the bottom Clearblue had one too. I also took two Asda’s own and they have a faint thin line What do you think?

Go and get a first response or early detection test (£4 in th coop). If that one is faintly positive, test again in two days (HGC doubles every 48 hours) If it gets darker, you are pregnant.

BlackeyedSusan · 19/03/2020 15:08

It is worrying isn't it. Hope you get the result you want.

lostguider · 19/03/2020 15:12

They say not pregnant to me.

MsChatterbox · 19/03/2020 15:16

They look good to me!

I’ve ordered two first response for click and collect at boots. I’m to pick them up tomorrow. Will take one Saturday morning and then go from there and see what is happening. I’m just worried as I need to know if I’m pregnant or not in terms of medication that I take. I didn’t have implantation bleeding with my little girl until around 5/6 weeks so this is a little earlier. Plus didn’t test positive with her until 3 days after my period was due (just down to me being scared to take a test lol).

In my experience they are much darker and clearer and no mistaking a line when it gets to the day of period due.

Ponoka7 · 19/03/2020 16:12

Theyvused to do blood tests for women on dangerous medication, but the new, early prediction tests do the same job.

Will you follow the advice to self isolate for 12 weeks?

MummyT93 · 23/03/2020 17:59

Hi everyone. Still no further along. Getting faint positives I think? But no period. Still just the odd bit of spotting. Attached pic below of tonight’s test
What do you guys think? Picking up my frer from boots tomorrow. Had to order it in 😂

I'd wait a week and try another one. None of them look like positives to me, but maybe it's just the picture?

Jupiter15 · 23/03/2020 19:38

I can’t see any lines but may just be the photos. FRER at this stage should show an obvious result. You could also Try a digital then you would know if it’s really saying positive or not.

nevermorelenore · 23/03/2020 19:40

I had very faint positives for both my DC, but they were a few days before period was due. When I retested on due date, they were a bit easier to see.

You could have possible ovulated later than you thought? So, maybe you're only 10/11 DPO?

MummyT93 · 25/03/2020 11:50

Hi guys further update. Took a boots early yesterday with faint positive. However took a first response this morning which is totally negative. I’m guessing I’m having a weird cycle. Due to go into my nurse in a week or so. Will chat with her if period hasn’t started by then. Thanks for all your help 👍🏼
