Bloody Bastarding UTIs

Woke up at midnight with that all too familiar burning sensation, been awake ever since and must have been for a 'wee' about 19 times.

36 weeks pg, wibu to call the mat ward tomorrow am first thing and ask them to give me some urgent anti-biotics? I have UTIs quite regularly and know this is a big one and won't shift with cranberry and patience alone!

Either the maternity ward or more likely, your GP. You need to get it cleared as they may catheterise you during birth which could make it worse or cause another uti.
I have a horrendous one at the mo due to my catheter from the birth that was left in the whole 3 days I was in labour then taken out on day 4. As I've never had a uti before I didn't know I had one so assumed it was just the after effects of giving birth.
The maternity unit eventually prescribed antibiotics (4wks later) but not strong enough so gp prescribed over the phone. I suspect you'll get them faster via the gp as you won't have to wait to see someone if he can prescribe over the phone.

Have you tried D-mannose? It was life changing for me. I just stocked up in case but I haven't suffered with a UTI in years. I just take some at the first signal. I have been hospitalised with uti's that were antibiotic resistant and suffered for years until I found d-mannose. I did take it in my pregnancy but you must check for yourself.
