Name my puppy! Miniature labradoodle, collecting in 3 weeks. Black with tight curly hair so far 😍

Presumably Labrador x standard (large) poodle as Labrador x toy poodle or Labrador x miniature poodle would surely be irresponsible and potentially dangerous due to the size discrepancy I would have thought?

Your thinking isn't entirely accurate.

We have a black mini goldendoodle (though that sounds like an oxymoron) There was very little difference in size between his retriever mum and miniature poodle dad.

And yes, black dogs are hard to photograph well! He's gorgeous.

i just re read the OP and saw that you collect him in 3 weeks, so he is still with his Mum, I was worried because he looks so - puppy-ish,

have a lovely time with him when he arrives soooooooooo beautiful

@Fr0g oh yes he's still with his mum his mum is a lovely, gentle girl and a great mum.

Do you want a cute name, something themed or a strong name? So many options so narrowing it down could help. As soon as I saw it was a doodle I knew here would be at least one judgy post! This seems an absolutely ideal time to get a puppy also. We planned to get one at the start of the summer holidays knowing we'd all be home for 7 weeks, but considering bringing that forward once I'm more clear if I'll definitely have longer off (school staff). Finally thanks for the gorgeous pictures, a welcome break from corona threads.

@frostedviolets - what do you suggest happens with the puppy then? I really can't understand your reasoning at all. The puppies are here already. If you're suggesting OP doesn't take it then what are you suggesting should happen to it? You also come across as quite patronising in the way you're warning OP that her dog might grow. Have you assumed she hasn't done any research into/got any experience with dogs?
Also, pretty much all dog breeds can breed. A Chihuahua could breed with a Dreat Dane. Not very likely of course but entirely possible.
