I’ve just been going through my cupboards and found this beauty - cannot see anyone eating it and nobody knows its origins??!
Where did it come from? Who bought it? Sounds vile

Bessiebigpants 7 1/2 ounces 'nom'?

I do not think it will taste like nom. Sorry. Sad

SultanasofPing · 18/03/2020 21:41

I have a jar of marmite peanut butter somewhere - I like marmite and I like peanut butter but the combo is rank!

zen1 · 18/03/2020 21:45

I’m really hoping I won’t have to open my tin of powdered milk.

TheFluffiestCat · 18/03/2020 21:45

We've got a bag of chick peas that moved in when DH did, 9 years ago.

mrsBtheparker · 18/03/2020 21:53

These bad boys

Actually that photo looks like army compo rations, the stuff they used to use on exercise, some of them were great, including the marmalade you're holding! No idea what they use these days, maybe the same things.

JaceLancs · 18/03/2020 22:14

Corned beef and tinned carrots here

NoraEphronsneck · 18/03/2020 22:17

One of those tinned chicken curries which was about a pound. I can't even find it at the moment. I am thinking it's at the back of the cupboard. Hoping it will never find the light of day but you never know. Might need it at some point. Would like to know the 'chicken' tastes like!

My DH bought a tinned Chickrn Korma last Friday. It smelled like dog food and didn't taste much better. House still smelled the next morning. I will never ever buy one again

Polkadotpjs · 18/03/2020 22:28

Update: some plum jam from Romania also on offer

My husband buys and eats several of the items listed here regularly.
He LOVES a tinned curry - probably has 3 a week and enjoys a tinned breakfast which he will add SPAM toEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy

CherryBlossomPink · 18/03/2020 22:34

I have a ton of mulligatawny soup I bought in error. I don’t even know what it is, but I can’t bring myself to throw it away 😂

CherryBlossomPink · 18/03/2020 22:34

A TIN not a ton!

RideaCockHorseOfCourse · 18/03/2020 22:36

I'll take your plum jam, you can have my phallus-like pickled ginseng Wink

BillThePony · 18/03/2020 22:42

DH brought a tin of those goblin burgers about a year ago as he was being nostalgic or something.

They are still in the cupboard. I will be feeding the, too him if we run out of food

Howmanysleepsnow · 18/03/2020 22:50

I have 6 tins of sardines in tomato sauce, and 4 mackerel. Also a tin of marrow fat peas. No idea why.
Will swap for tinned mushrooms, and would even consider cock soup!

Eckhart · 18/03/2020 22:53

I'm picturing a skip in the driveway and a really worried face looking out of the living room window...

CoronaIsComing · 18/03/2020 23:09

I was going to say the prawn cocktail crisps out of the multipack I bought but you win, @Polkadotpjs

CorianderLord · 18/03/2020 23:16

Mulligatawny is lovely what's wrong with you all? @CherryBlossomPink it's a curry flavoured lentil soup with carrots and apples

CorianderLord · 18/03/2020 23:20

@pastaparadise please throw away those beans... I was 13 when they went beyond their date

Deadsouls · 18/03/2020 23:21

I have a tin of stewed prunes for some reason. Pretty sure they're not going to get eaten

GinnyWeasleysQuiff · 18/03/2020 23:23

This is not a weird food at all but I sent my H shopping last week and he came back with a four pack of spaghetti hoops. Like I say, not weird but I have never known anyone including our two DC's eat spaghetti hoops in our lives? Everytime I open the cupboard, I look at them and shake my head

Yogawoogie · 18/03/2020 23:24

I went to eat my papaya earlier and it was soft. Our first casualty. Rest in peace papaya.

Sunshinesky1981 · 18/03/2020 23:29

I have a packet of bean feast circa 2013 if there is any takers?

Also I am completely floored by the idea you can get tinned brussel sprouts Shock

Tinty · 18/03/2020 23:29

Ginger flavour matchmakers Envy boak, a Christmas gift nobody liked.

Wondering if, as a last resort, I can suck the chocolate off of them and throw away the ginger stick. Bleurgh. Grin

JingsMahBucket · 18/03/2020 23:29

@ChardonnaysPetDragon
You can make shortbread with tahini instead of butter.

Go on...

Clevererthanyou · 18/03/2020 23:30

Personally I can’t wait to get stuck into the butter beans, I bought them specifically for the Hairy Bikers sausage casserole recipe. I’ll save it for a really shit day though I think. Previously I didn’t mind a tuna sandwich but I’ve got a single tin of tuna waiting to be eaten that won’t be any time soon due to the idea of it giving me the boak recently :/
