Not sure where to put this.

But do your farts sound different since childbirth? Envy

Yuppp and my bowels are weird too. Things they don't tell you!

Catworrier · 16/03/2020 22:06

It's bizarre? I guess it's the change of the muscle structure?

GreyishDays · 16/03/2020 22:09

Yes. Mine are much deeper.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 16/03/2020 22:12

And reverberate more!

Catworrier · 16/03/2020 22:17

I can’t remember what my pre DC farts sounded like. They make the floor shake now though. I’m rather proud of them. DP, who hasn’t given birth, does higher pitched tooty ones.No less bloody stinky though. IME it’s the silent ones you have to beware of.

tmi here but you asked

mine got torn and my insides came out(both ends) during birth so i had a 2 hour operation 30 mins after to fix and put every thing back up so mine was technically brand new

for weeks after it was so tight, going for a poo was such hard work i was on medication to make poos loose and farts came out with a squeak

Winterwoollies · 17/03/2020 15:35

I’m so fed up with the constant CoVID-19 stuff and this has really made me laugh. Especially as I’m pregnant.

Note to self really work on bum bit when doing pelvic floors.

Eminybob · 17/03/2020 15:42

I hadn’t noticed any difference. Mine are a variety of different sounds anyway

Marshmallow91 · 17/03/2020 15:52

I had a baby a year ago. I have mobility problems so sit down in the shower to shave my legs. Today I farted and I swear the sound was like Donald duck being drowned in a river Grin

Jumpjumpjumper · 17/03/2020 22:09

Omg I have been wondering how I ever farted when I was with my ex husband, when they're so loud.
Just realised, thanks to this thread, that they've changed since I had children!
I'm sure my neighbours think I'm very classy.

Soconfusedandlost · 17/03/2020 22:18

Further question, has the smell changed?

The sound changed after my first child but after my second, the smell is remarkably different. I disgust myself

AngeloMysterioso · 17/03/2020 23:00

Can’t say I’ve noticed, but will pay closer attention next time I toot one out and report back Grin

Toastiemaker · 18/03/2020 06:37

Brilliant thread! Grin yes mine are definitely different, smellier too!

BogRollBOGOF · 18/03/2020 06:40

I had a 3rd degree tear and was on heavy duty laxitives for a month while I healed up. Because the nerves were pretty stunned and numb, it was my nose that would inform me that yet another silent but deadly had emerged 30 seconds earlier. I did not leave the house for any non-essential, non-medical reason for a month.

The general quality of my flatulence did return to normal, but I also discovered what my dietary triggers were through weaning DS off his allergens and tweaking lifestyle.
So if I keep off onions, excess sugar (inc alcohol) soya and certain forms of dairy, I won't be distracting Extinction Rebellion from the environmental hazards of cows Grin
