AIBU to ask you for tattoo advice?

Sorry everyone, I’m committing the cardinal sin of posting here purely for traffic. I posted in the tattoo forum and have had no responses so I’m turning to AIBU as I’m in need of your expertise!

I’m researching for a tattoo and have a specific style and idea in mind (floral, delicate line work but with some light colour shading) and I keep coming across the work of Olga Koroleva. I think her work is absolutely stunning and is exactly what I want. My problem is she’s based in Moscow!

I know all artists have their own style and I would never ask another artist to directly copy another’s art but does anyone know of anybody in the south of England (massive bonus points if they’re Brighton based!) who works in a similar style who might be able to create something similarly delicate? I can’t get her work out of my head, it’s so beautiful. Help!

Have a look at the tattoo lounge. It's in Eastbourne. The artist is JL Lang Tattoo on Instagram.

Diamond Tattoo has recently opened in Kent. She's called Lucy and has been tattooing for years, but this shop is a new venture. Floral and delicate stuff is her speciality. You might have a look online or contact her to see if she can do what you want. She is lovely too. Tell her Rowena sent you Grin

The guy who used to work at tattoo at gunpoint is really good, he did a lovely one for me.

Forever True tattoo in Liverpool or Tooth And Talon in Manchester

Writersblock2 · 16/03/2020 23:36

I have no recommendations (beyond Lianne Moule though her style is more watercolour and you’d take forever to get an appointment - she’s exquisite) but just wanted to post my appreciation for this post and the gorgeous pics, and the five minutes away from Corona! Flowers

Scientits · 16/03/2020 23:47

I highly recommend Occult Tattoo in Worthing - they have resident artists as well as regular guest slots so have a look at who is coming in soon and see if the styles match up - in particular LozzyBones has some nice floral work

Holly Whitehouse at Paradise in High Wycombe is very very good indeed

Badassmama · 17/03/2020 01:23

Rebecca Vincent at Parliament Tattoo in London

Windmyonlyfriend · 17/03/2020 07:43

I knew you guys would crack it! Thank you so much for all the recommendations. I’m off to work now (no working from home as a TA!) but will have a proper look at all the mentioned artists’ work later.

@Yogafairy I looked at JL Lang’s work and it’s so similar!! Almost
perfect if she’ll add some colour, thank you!

@Writersblock2 I’m so glad to have brightened your day Grin Aren’t the tattoos just beautiful?! I’m obviously going to have to wait for things to calm down before I can book anything but it’s something to look forward to!

@Windmyonlyfriend she does colour work too :)

ShirleyPhallus · 17/03/2020 08:00

I usually really dislike tattoos but some of the artists posted here have absolutely beautiful work! Lovely stuff.

JagerPlease · 17/03/2020 08:01

Jack Newton at 1770 in Brighton is brilliant at really delicate needlework, also worth checking out some of their other artists who may specialise more in florals (Jack has done a couple of mine so can personally vouch for the standard of his work)

Dani belle ink does EXCEPTIONAL line work. Based in Tunbridge Wells I think.

AuntieDolly · 17/03/2020 08:21

Dannii Tyler at autonomy in godalming does great floral work

Luaa · 17/03/2020 08:40

I had one from instagram.com/lavaletatyou?igshid=1atv45yq1a8tc
recently, quite similar style and she's lovely

Scout2016 · 17/03/2020 21:11

Do you want a bird as well? Matt Hunt at modern body art in Birmingham does great birds and flowers and colour, but might ge a bit too colour heavy. www.instagram.com/matthuntmba/?hl=en

Bekkie Lohr at St Clair's near Edinburgh does flowers and colour www.instagram.com/matthuntmba/?hl=en but is a fair way away!

Scout2016 · 17/03/2020 21:27

For anyone wanting just old fashioned botanical flowers, Keira at
Semper Tattoo in Edinburgh just did a brilliant job over some scars on a relative so I wanted to do a shout out.

Another vote for Rebecca Vincent. Her work is exceptional

Scout2016 · 17/03/2020 21:35

Rebecca Vincent is great but I thought she only did black and white? Also very hard to get an appointment with, obviously worth trying.

LittleSweet · 17/03/2020 21:39

WritersBlock2, I love Leanne Moule. I have a tattoo inspired by one of hers.

Sparklypurpleunicornsaremyfav · 17/03/2020 22:19

No help here but just wanted to say wow at these tattooists they are amazing and beautiful pieces of art. I have 2 bog standard tattoos, both black and white which is what I love but would love a couple more but my husband hates tattoos with a passion 😞

Craftycorvid · 17/03/2020 22:23

Got my first tattoo in January. Love it! Those designs look great, OP.

theemmadilemma · 17/03/2020 22:40

Love that OP.

I fell in love with Alexandra Labeguerie's work and had something in a similar style since I couldn't get to see her.
