To imagine Justin Fletcher coming to a sticky end

Maybe sleep deprivation or just trying to distract myself from all the craziness at the moment but...

I watch the start of something special and when Justin is singing his hello song in whichever place they are at that episode, I imagine him coming a cropper in a scenario, eg falling in front of the train, getting kicked by the kangaroo at the zoo etc etc. I have to have lost it... 🙄

Nah, Mr Bloom with his dirty hands and northern accent is where it's at.

Gemma2019 · 15/03/2020 23:15

Met him once and didn't like him at all. I asked him how long he had been doing sign language before the programme came out and he said he never learned sign language as he's far too busy for that. Someone just shows him the signs at the time and he repeats them. I got the impression it was just a job to him.

My kids have always been scared of Justin. My middle DC watches endless Bing and I have a fantasy episode in my head called 'flop loses his shit'. I hate Flop so much that I cant watch Mark Rylance in it.

I quite like Andy but my favourites are the two guys on Swashbuckle. I have no idea why as they are highly irritating really and Swashbuckle is banned in our house as it makes my DC naughty but I still have a secret chuckle if I see them in anything.9

june2007 · 15/03/2020 23:20

I like Hook and Line as well.

Burgerandchipvan · 15/03/2020 23:30

Something special is one of the best things the BBC produces. However Justin's House is an unbearable abomination and should be immediately stopped.

Goldenhedgehogs · 16/03/2020 19:38

I made up alternative storylines in my head to Balamory. Lots of lesbian love affairs just to get over the tedium of watching the garbage. So I have lots of sympathy with you and Justin Wink

HowDoesTheCow · 16/03/2020 19:51

I'm with Chankly Nope. Never.

namechangetheworld · 16/03/2020 19:51

I love Justin. He comes across as very genuine and warm when interacting with the children on Something Special.

I have to switch over when Andy comes on. He always seems affable enough but I find him distractingly strange looking. And I'm usually a sucker for curly haired men.

Ameanstreakamilewide · 16/03/2020 19:53

Mrs - yes, yes to Mr Bloom! 👍

I'm a sucker for an accent.

namechangetheworld · 16/03/2020 19:53

Oh, and I do have a tiny crush on Ben from the CBeebies House. He seems to have a really lovely nature and happens to be extremely hot too

paintcolourwoes · 16/03/2020 19:59

It’s a real shame Mr Bloom hasn’t been on CBeebies for ages. My kids love him!

paintcolourwoes · 16/03/2020 19:59

Justin is irritating and creepy but not quite as creepy as Dr Ranj

carly2803 · 16/03/2020 20:05

is he gay?!

does he have a girlfriend?

i have a crush on him. mabey.

stouffer · 16/03/2020 20:08

Gigglebiz gigglebiz,
We’ve had a lot of fun
No Justin, that’s just you

Gemma2019 · 16/03/2020 20:14

He's never spoken out about his personal life or sexuality but I read an interview where he said he lived alone with two cats, so make of that what you will.

Just googled him and he will apparently be 50 in June. He's having a really long run for a kid's TV presenter.

NoNeedToBeRudeDear · 16/03/2020 20:15

@namechangetheworld Ben is gorgeous!

Elderflower14 · 16/03/2020 20:20

Ds2 adores him. He's met him several times and been on stage with him. Mum and I facetimed with him and Ds2 a couple of years ago. I thanked him for making signing available to more people and he was very pleased...

FrancesFlute · 16/03/2020 20:26

Also have a little crush on Ben from CBeebies. He seems very genuine.

Name changed for this..

I live where the majority of Something Special was filmed. There had been many a weekend (actually mainly the summer of 2018 where it was gloriously hot) where I've been sat in my garden, wine swinging with one hand, repeating frequently "if there are no spots, Mr Tumble is out". It was cute at first, but as this has been a conversation had over a few years it's not so cute anymore!!

I live in a National Trust estate, so we get quite a lot of filming around here.. non of which (and the place has had 2 series dedicated to it on channel 4) has ever struck the cord with the general public as something special has done.

On a different note, I'm not sure how I feel about him shagging someone. Surely to god the man should be A-sexual for everyone's sanity???

donquixotedelamancha · 16/03/2020 22:26

And THEN I'm sure someone appeared to say they had shagged him.

Assuming this was a woman, she's lying.

Anychance123 · 16/03/2020 22:36

Aw I love Justin. Have you heard his song, ‘what does the fox say?’ It’s crazy and DD loves it, it’s very catchy.

DesignedForLife · 16/03/2020 22:42

YABU. He does a great job normalising severe disabilities, and including the kids and making them feel part of a special community.

namechangetheworld · 16/03/2020 22:48

@Spottyhouse
Do you live in the actual 'Mr Tumble' house, or just close by? Every time they show the exterior I think how gorgeous it is.

Rosebel · 16/03/2020 22:52

I can not bear Justin. He is so so irritating. Maybe it's just me but I always get the impression he isn't really enjoying being with the special needs children and his other shows are awful.
I quite like Cook and Line though. Swashbuckle was my daughter's favourite.
