My work has no dress code. Men wear hoodies, trainers and jeans, even tracksuit bottoms and holey jumpers. There are many departments and it's not a corporate environment so no one cares.
Women also dress how they want - some extremely casual, tracksuit bottoms again, hoodies, muddy and dirty looking clothes sometimes etc.
I would say I dress smart casual - I wear a mixture of jeans, dresses and skirts.
But a man (who is not my boss but senior to me) said my skirt length is inappropriate as I sometimes wear skirts above the knee. When I asked why, he said it's because it's a male dominated environment, and well dressed women make some men feel uncomfortable.
AIBU to think this is sexist, seeing as everyone else wears whatever they want? My skirts are not very short, yes they are above the knee but I always wear tights and long/ bagging tops and jumpers with them. No man has ever given me unwanted attention or comments at work due to my dress or otherwise. Or am I being naive?
