AIBU to instigate a new way of putting clothes away tomorrow?

So did a wash load today, folded it into different piles for me, DH, and 3 kids. These were on our bed as that is where I was when I was doing it and then everyone can take their pile to put away. Just went in to find DH lying on said piles, messing them up. Made it clear I wasn’t happy. He said they weren’t in a good place! WIBU to change my method tomorrow for the next loads, and just tip all the clean stuff in the middle of the living room floor and leave them all to sort out their own stuff?!

He’s lucky you didn’t tie it around his throat and pull.....

I love your new plan. But would the other members of your household actually deal with their items?

pooopypants · 14/03/2020 19:27

Depends on DC ages

He's lucky you didn't throttle him with the clothes. That's what I would've done.

Look up Supernanny - plan something super fun and then tell them they have 15 mins to put away all their stuff. If they haven't done it, they're not coming. Bet you £50 they do it.

Neverender · 14/03/2020 19:35

Let your kids show up your crappy DH

Wallywobbles · 14/03/2020 19:36

Pile on table where you eat. No one gets fed until it's been put away.

😁 loving your responses! Kids are 10, 8 and 5 so really only the little one should need a hand. I think if I do follow through with this (this is very likely) then it will all get put away cos DH wouldn’t cope with the mess in the living room. As long as it’s right in the middle........

We all have a basket in our house, so I separate all clothes into each basket when clean and folded, then deliver each basket. I've been doing this since my kids were 4/5 years old, so they know the drill now!

I did this! But threw on bedroom floor. I used to leave teen DS’s clean clothes folded on his bed to put away, which he never did. He would move it to the chair and it then gradually moved to the floor/ became mixed with dirty stuff.

A friend puts the pile on each person’s chair - no dinner until you’ve put your pile away. Sadly two of mine would happily miss several meals Confused
