Excessive hair dye use

I’m pregnant and have had a shitty week - so I’ve dyed and bleached my hair 3 times this week, 5 times in total this month 😱. I’m panicking that I’ve hurt the baby. Am I been stupid to panic this much?

Ok, firstly, stop fucking with your hair. You’re being utterly ridiculous.

Secondly, no, it won’t have damaged your baby. Especially if you haven’t actually applied any to the roots. So pack that daft thought in.

Thirdly, you need to find a better stress outlet than dying your hair. A gentle face pack or pregnancy massage would make much more sense.

Fourthly, get a nice sachet of richly intensively moisturising hair masque. Wet your hair but don’t wash it. Slather it on all of your hair from root to tip. Cool your hair, covered in product, on top of your head and wrap the whole lot in cling film (just your head, not your face...) so it forms a skull cap. Then wrap a warmed towel around the whole lot and put up in a turban. Leave that on for as long as you possibly can. Hours if possible. Then rinse and gently comb and leave to air dry. Repeat as necessary.

Fifthly, go for a free consultation at a reputable salon to see what they can cut back and gently restore so you’re happy.

Sixthly, calm the fuck down.

Coil your hair*

Quite seriously, I'd booked yourself in at the salon to have an Olaplex pro treatment and order Philip Kingsley Elasticiser and/or Apoghee protein treatment.

I bleached my hair in one day from dark red/brown to blond.
Had to do 3 x applications. I was admiring the colour and suddenly realised half my hair was gone. It was not a good day.

A load of it broke off about 2cm from the root. Took about two years to grow back.

This made me LOL.

@Qwertygert I thought it best to be as clear as possible, under the circumstances... 🤭

@Winterwoollies i can imagine the fall out had you not of been! The po-po turning up looking for you for assisted manslaughter Grin

Blame your hormones, and be kind to yourself. My friend plucked out 90% of her eyebrows for no discernable reason when pregnant. Your baby will be fine.
