To want to do a ouija board?

I’ve tried to prove to myself that ghosts exist for years. I’ve stayed in “haunted hoteld”, travelled to “ the most haunted island” etc and nothing has ever happened.

I want to do a ouija board ... as final proof that the supernatural does not exist but nobody will do one with me, not even people m that “don’t believe” or people that “want to believe” etc

I’ve done one on my own but nothing happened. AIBU for wanting someone to just humour me with this?

OP posts:

Never found they worked very well so I don’t normally use one.

SinkGirl · 13/03/2020 23:48

I don’t believe there’s anything supernatural about them but I do believe that the psychological impact on some people is just as dangerous.

SquatBetty · 14/03/2020 02:05

Ouija boards are bollocks

This is how they actually work:

Not on this fucking planet would I ever mess with one of those things. Do what you want OP but UABU to try to drag anyone else into it with you.

Pandamoore · 14/03/2020 02:40

Dont touch that shit.
Not a board but I accidentally summoned something from an occult object a few years back.

You never expect to see stuff like that in your lifetime. And it wasnt Casper the frickin friendly ghost I'll tell you that much.

Those things can let demonic forces into your life. Sure, chances are nothing will happen. But if it does, you could be hounded for the rest of your life by your mistake.

Don't chance it.

Likethebattle · 14/03/2020 02:46

Don’t dabble with this shit!

Hmmmm88 · 14/03/2020 05:48

A friend asked me to do one not so long ago i said no straight away. She shown me some video's on YouTube and it was definitely enough to make me realise saying no was a good choice.
The video's were by a YouTuber called chills and the other slapped ham.

The videos are by

Warpdrive · 14/03/2020 08:18

I'm more concerned with your attraction to the occult... It's unhealthy. I would reflect on what you're hoping to achieve and what you are missing in your life to make you want to pursue dark things like that.

Yes.

Applejaxx · 14/03/2020 08:26

Don’t do it.

PlomBear · 14/03/2020 09:27

I have a birdie friend badge you can have OP? He seems to attract weird entities AND predict the future.

MimiLaRue · 14/03/2020 09:28

You dont mess round with things like this. I am warning you. Do no do this.

I guarantee you will regret it.

itsallthedramaMickiloveit · 14/03/2020 09:31

We did it. Laughed a lot. Nothing happened. Because it doesn't exist. It's just a bit of fun.

Do it. It is a good laugh. Especially with some alcohol.

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 09:38

There's nothing inherently supernatural about a Ouija board - they were patented as a parlour game. If the dead had something to say to you, why would they need to communicate through a board?

Lots of money has been conned out of people one way or another, preying on their grief for loved ones, so don't go down that slippery slope.

If the dead have any kind of ongoing existence and if they can and want to communicate with you, they'll find a way without the need for Ouija Boards or mediums.

I had clean forgotten Birdie Friend, the Sinister Badge of Doom! Grin That was a wonderfully funny thread, though I can't remember how it ended? Or was the point that it didn't end, the OP just ran out of ideas and vanished?

PlomBear · 14/03/2020 10:09

Horsefeather

I AM that OP. 😐

And Birdie Friend is alive and well and I’ve recently updated the thread which is the first page of AIBU.

🦅

Sweet dreams...

Horsefeather · 14/03/2020 10:15

I can't see it, @Plombear? What is it called?

PlomBear · 14/03/2020 10:16

My child has a badge that sees ghosts...

Ps, it won’t work on your own, you need the energy of other people.

In particular the "energy" of the one who's going to wind you up by pushing it round to spell out "DEATH" Grin

TheFormidableMrsC · 14/03/2020 11:05

Please don't do it.

BirdMascara · 14/03/2020 11:09

In particular the "energy" of the one who's going to wind you up by pushing it round to spell out "DEATH"

This. And it also helps if there's at least one really gullible person who jumps at their own shadow. Hence why the whole thing works best with a group of suggestible teenagers who are either drunk or high.

saveforthat · 14/03/2020 11:15

I did this when I was 14, nearly 50 years ago in a friends house. A model ship flew off the sideboard across the room. Never forgotten

Cocobean30 · 14/03/2020 11:42

You’d just be inviting demonic activity in to your life. ‘Ghosts’ aren’t spirits of humans, they’re familiar spirits and other dark entities messing with you and making you believe your family are contacting you. To cause mischief at the least and draw you away from God/open portals

itsallthedramaMickiloveit · 14/03/2020 11:43

If God was real I'd jump on anything that would piss him off.

VettiyaIruken · 14/03/2020 11:46

YANBU
It's all bollocks so there's nothing to fear.
I'd do it with you, no problem.
