@RobinsEggBlue he's an arsehole

FilthyforFirth · 13/03/2020 23:48

Thanks all. I wont physically have to get up, my my son will insist on coming into the room to see me. Which is quite sweet really. It's just I cry each time I see his face thinking about how we are definitely not going on holiday in a few weeks.

Halfway through the 2nd bottle of tonic, and now tapping out at 8 g&ts... We are away for a work party tomorrow night (DS with MIL) so I will be back with you booze hounds tomorrow if around.

Enjoy your snacks and lie ins those of you without kids/older kids. Bastards.

Naiceandaslice · 13/03/2020 23:53

This might be the bottle of prosecco talking @filthy but please don't feel like the worst parent Flowers you told your son what you believed to be the truth and no one in the world could've predicted this a few months ago.

This too shall pass as they say or drown in a vat of booze

PenguinsOnParade · 14/03/2020 00:00

Thanks Filthy. It's not your fault even if it sucks so much right now.

Redshoeblueshoe · 14/03/2020 00:03

Book I apologise here 🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷🍷

FilthyforFirth · 14/03/2020 00:04

Thank you. We just shoved it down his throat so much to ensure he wasnt scared of the characters, or flying, and was excited to go etc that we have ended up architectures of our own downfall.

Am hoping a quick trip to DLP, poor altenrative that it is - and bloody costly - will suffice in the short run. Another full on WDW holiday seems years off now.

Sorry for the pity party all. Will leave you all to your lovely drinks Flowers

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 00:04

I'm seriously considering a bag of crisps as I move from the wine stage to the beer stage.

BillieEilish · 14/03/2020 00:44

DLP is shut.

May I join you? I'm in Spain and today all schools were ordered shut, no food, no deliveries online and from midnight all bars and restaurants/cinemas shut until further notice.

Do not leave the house! State of National emergency.

I'm on v&t.

BillieEilish · 14/03/2020 00:45

and strangely happy!

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 00:50

TBH I think that's what we should be doing here. I'm on beer now - think everyone else must've gone to bed!

Bluewater1 · 14/03/2020 00:52

I am very drunk on beer!! Been dancing around the lounge and singing 😁

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 00:55
Grin
BillieEilish · 14/03/2020 00:56

Well, cheers everyone Wine

BadEyeBri · 14/03/2020 00:58

I've just eaten the left over fried rice burp

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 00:59

What I wouldn't give for cold leftover takeaway curry right now. With a chunk of fridged naan bread and the scrapings of a raita tub.

BillieEilish · 14/03/2020 01:01

I'm going to make a curry tomorrow, that settles it!

Goingunderground2 · 14/03/2020 01:02

Vouchers used at posh place - should have done two nights but can't risk them expiring due to things that can't be mentioned Grin

PenguinsOnParade · 14/03/2020 01:06

I'm still here. Still on the wine. Now listening to twenty one pilots on the Alexa as it's just over a year since I took DD1 to see them for her first gig. Was one of the best gigs I've ever been to as well.

DH got home safely but he's still pissed off that his work could have exposed him to the woman with corona symptoms tonight, apparently one of his workmates has kicked off majorly at the handling of it.

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 01:10

I'm listening to Kula Shaker which usually bodes ill for the next day.

PenguinsOnParade · 14/03/2020 01:13

@TheMemoryLingers Now you're bringing back some memories! Finally had the chance to see them in Glasgow on the 20th anniversary K tour. Which is a bittersweet one now as it was at the O2 ABC, which was affected by one of the big fires, the roof caved in and I think they lost the big disco ball (think it had been the biggest in Europe or something). DH has photos of me with it behind me though and the gig was just fantastic. We were right at the front and it slammed me back into my slightly younger years to hear it all again.

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 01:17

That sounds amazing, Penguins! I can't kid myself that 'slightly' is an appropriate adverb to my younger Kula Shaker years anymore, alas Grin. However, I've got REM lined up ...

PenguinsOnParade · 14/03/2020 01:22

@TheMemoryLingers To be fair my "slightly" might be wishful thinking nowadays. Grin

I'm still happily bopping away to twenty one pilots right now, not sure if I'll change tonight as I do like many of their songs. It always makes me want to take up ukulele lessons though. Blush

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 01:32

I'm staying with happier times!

PenguinsOnParade · 14/03/2020 01:36

That brings back some memories too, we must be around the same age. Grin

Looks like I've exhausted Alexa of twenty one pilots songs now but I've fallen out with her as she's claiming not to know the album K. Will just have to ask for Kula Shaker on shuffle instead which isn't quite the same.

TheMemoryLingers · 14/03/2020 01:40

I'm in my mid forties so the nineties/early 2000s were my definitely my prime of life. Grin Mind you, I have plenty of love for the 70s and 80s too, and my mum instilled a love of the late 60s in me even though they were before my time. It's all so good! The only way to lose yourself amid a troubled reality.
