To be raging at my ex right now?

I called him two hours ago to remind him it’s our Year 2 son’s ‘work sharing’ afternoon at school. He collects on a Friday regularly. I rang at 1:45, work sharing started at 2:45, collection is at 3:15 usually. Anyway after we spoke he fell asleep and I was rung by the school at 3:30 asking who was collecting DS as nobody had come to see his work or collect him.
I'm just so upset for DS, so gobsmacked that my ex could be such an idiot, and wondering what the school must be thinking Sad.

It's not acceptable is it? He has form for this sort of thing too. I just don't know how to deal with it, because I find it incomprehensible that he could keep messing up such basic things. It's not malicious and I know he loves DS as much as I do but the let-downs really hurt.

Oh Christ
I did this years ago- didn’t mean to doze off. Knew I had to fetch son at 3:15. So sat at kitchen table as there was 40mins to go before setting off. Next thing woke up startled, rushed out of the house and ran to school only realising I had odd shoes on as I rushed into the school office. Was only 15min late. Luckily partner saw the funny side as did the staff.
