To think virus threads should go in their dedicated section and stay there?

Surely I'm not alone in getting thoroughly sick of this infesting absolutely everything?

Even as I type there are 6 CV threads just in AIBU and many more scattered elsewhere, but there's already a huge CV section and, though HQ do their best in moving threads over, it beats me why folk don't just post there in the first place

For clarity, no I'm not the thread police, and yes we need to keep ourselves informed, but I simply don't get how the some of the worst hysteria's helping anyone. Wouldn't keeping it all in one place be a better approach to avoid that, too, spreading?

YABU. There is a specific section about conoravirus and you should have posted there.
Can someone please move this to the coronavirus complaints section.

HollysBush · 13/03/2020 12:17

😆 Dylan
I agree. Everyone will tell you I’m the most chilled out person but even I felt a bit panicky when I woke this morning and covid was everywhere.

TheMemoryLingers · 13/03/2020 12:18

The Coronavirus threads need to self-isolate. YANBU.

Lougle · 13/03/2020 12:20

Viruses don't follow rules...

Isla727 · 13/03/2020 12:24

But everything is affected by it so eventually most AIBU threads will involve something to do with it. Also moving all Covid threads just means that some AIBU frequenters (like the AIBU to be annoyed with my friend not attending concert) don't even know the basics about Coronavirus, which is dangerous.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 13/03/2020 12:28

This one thread isn't so much about the virus itself though, which is why I didn't pick that section
I hoped it could be more about whether it was worthwhile to avoid some of the more overblown angst spreading too widely ...

OP posts:
BelleharePenguin09 · 13/03/2020 12:40

Agreed.

BelleharePenguin09 · 13/03/2020 12:41

It’s not helpful to get frantic.

TerryScottsBridge · 13/03/2020 12:44

I don't care about the virus. If I get it, I get it and there's very little I can do to prevent it. Luckily DP and I are unsociable bastards and don't go out much, me to work and DP when we have to shop.

IMO if my time's up, it's up and it could just as easily be getting run over by a bus as this virus.

Madmoggie · 13/03/2020 12:48

Absolutely.

Isthistrueor · 13/03/2020 12:49

Yes, I’m tired of hiding threads now. I think I hide up to ten threads a day, it’s getting silly now.

Vulpine · 13/03/2020 12:50

I often find the title of a thread a good guide as to whether to open it or not Hmm

DustyMaiden · 13/03/2020 12:52

Yet, here you are.

Isla727 · 13/03/2020 12:53

I wonder if some of the people who would vote YABU have moved over to the Coronavirus side!

Jespers · 13/03/2020 12:55

What are you, the AIBU police??
If you don't like it then don't click in the link, and don't comment and bump them up. In fact should your Coronavirus whinging post be moved?
What about the people banging on about their useless DH, awful MIL should they all go to relationships?
Or the ones about divorce? Or weddings? or whatever...

Dividingthementalload · 13/03/2020 12:55

Amen to that! Just read the one which posted an inaccurate account of Italy’s chief medica officer dying. Not true. And other people posting incendiary links. It’s this kind of panic that caused bog roll gate!

GiveHerHellFromUs · 13/03/2020 12:57

If it's not a thread about the virus it's a thread about a thread which is against Talk Guidelines. I've reported for you so MNHQ can make the decision.

AmputatedSoul · 13/03/2020 12:58

Threads like this one you mean? Thanks

Papoy · 13/03/2020 13:27

Someone just posted under Feminism chat ... how will corona effect woman !!!

There is an Aibu about "running outside" when self isolation?

I am sure soon the beauty and style section will discuss how to wear your mask ....

I am happy to learn about it be aware of it and keep safe... but please dont turn this into some joke. It is serious and unless you have something fact base and important to say... dont say anything ... you are confusing and scaring people !!!

Jespers · 13/03/2020 14:04

@Dividingthementalload 'Amen to that! Just read the one which posted an inaccurate account of Italy’s chief medica officer dying. Not true.'

It is true. They have died.

Nirvana1979 · 13/03/2020 14:10

How would you know there is a CV section though? Doesn't bother me, my phone has this amazing function that enables me to scroll. In fact i think most devices have this function, have a google and see OP? 😊

willowpatterns · 13/03/2020 14:29

It would get to the point where just about every subject would end up there though.

Holidays, elderly relative care, insurance, housekeeping, growing vegetables, mental health, SN, you name it. Most things in our lives are going to be affected one way or another by this thing.

willowpatterns · 13/03/2020 14:31

@Jespers it's not true - the person who sadly died wasn't the 'chief medical officer'.

Frownette · 13/03/2020 14:44

Who was it then? Press were reporting

DowntownAbby · 13/03/2020 14:48

@Isla727

Also moving all Covid threads just means that some AIBU frequenters (like the AIBU to be annoyed with my friend not attending concert) don't even know the basics about Coronavirus, which is dangerous.

Hold on...you're suggesting that Coronavirus threads are useful to AIBU frequenters for educational purposes?

Christ...have you actually read some of those threads!
