I think you are missing all of the threads where people are offering tremendous support - breastfeeding, SEN, mental health, bereavement.

There’s Woolly Hugs, which started on here - a charity knitting project that knits and crochets blankets for MNers who lose a child or a spouse, as well as for sick children in hospital, women undergoing cancer, refugees, children with cancer in Africa, and wee blankets to wrap, very premature babies who are stillborn.

You are missing all the threads where MNers generously share their embarrassing slip-ups and funny experiences to entertain us all - go and look at some of the threads in Classics - so many hilarious threads and stories.

There is lots of good advice given here - sometimes it is given bluntly - but I believe most of it is given with the aim of helping people.

Lausch95 · 12/03/2020 23:09

I agree.
On my Facebook its full of 'Be Kind' but ironically some of the women who keep spouting this are in fact not very pleasant in real life! One I work with is a bully in the office. She can be quite rude, gossipy and spiteful yet she tries to promote kindness.

Sonichu · 12/03/2020 23:09

Yawn

Lausch95 · 12/03/2020 23:12

Sorry just re read your OP and realised that you are referring to mumsnet threads and I jumped straight in talking about FB instead. I'm ready for bed I think!
There are some wonderful and supportive people on here, I've been helped a lot when I've had a query or dilemma.

peachymum29 · 12/03/2020 23:23

@Sonichu yeah those like you

Quit whinging.

If you see bullying then report it.

NorthEndGal · 12/03/2020 23:27

There is a difference between bullying, and robust discussions, sarcasm and jest.

ThunderPython · 12/03/2020 23:29

I think we need a separate topic for these threads. @MNHQ can we have a "Mumsnet is full of meanies" topic so I can hide it along with the Coronavirus threads. Thanks everso!

peachymum29 · 12/03/2020 23:31

Yip Bully's over and over again! Same thread different B*tches NASTY

BuzzShitbagBobbly · 12/03/2020 23:32

Ironic second reply post from an OP complaining about bullying.

StepAwayFromGoogle · 12/03/2020 23:35

Erm. I'm hoping you are trying to be ironic in your replies, OP.

gingersausage · 12/03/2020 23:38

Oh the irony of calling people bitches, whilst complaining about bullies 🤣.

n00bMaster69 · 12/03/2020 23:39

"Bullies, bitches, nasty"...we'll be getting "old" and "hags" next.

ThunderPython · 12/03/2020 23:55

Blimey. Someone needs to get an early night and chill a bit.

PurpleDaisies · 12/03/2020 23:57

We had this thread yesterday.

The good is there if you look for it, as I said, @peachymum29.

I know there are many, many supportive, kind, helpful, wonderful people on here - I have met some of them in real life, and am proud to call them my friend. I have had some amazing support and kindness on here, with my struggles with depression and poor mental health. I hope I have been as supportive and kind to others as they have been to me. Am I perfect? No - but if I upset someone, I apologise if I can.

I am proud to be a part of Woolly Hugs - I knitted for the first ever blanket, and the project has helped and comforted so many people.

MN is not perfect. If you see nastiness/bullying, call it out on the thread or report it. But please try looking for the good too - it is there. If all you look for is nastiness, that’s what you will find - I choose to look for the good.

ilovesooty · 13/03/2020 01:06

Yes you are missing something - the weekly or more threads on this already.

ilovesooty · 13/03/2020 01:07

@SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius - well said . A thoughtful reply probably wasted on the OP.

BitOfFun · 13/03/2020 01:24

Sometimes people are projecting, and see what they look for.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 13/03/2020 01:25

Thank you@ilovesooty.

peachymum29 · 13/03/2020 08:08

ilovesooty it isn't wasted on me it was a very thoughtful reply thanks SDTGisAnEvilWolfFGenuis. The last few posts I've read asking for help I've seen people get pulled apart and all sorts it's very hard to read sometimes

I'm guessing maybe this isn't the site for you. there are dozens of other out there, maybe try some of them.

Nanny0gg · 13/03/2020 08:19

Are some schools closed already?

Thedogscollar · 13/03/2020 08:25

No need for that.
