So I have gel nail extensions and I had them re-done and 2 snapped down the middle in just 3 days.

They have blamed me because I have an office job and type at a computer.

Aibu to think it’s actually them at fault and they should last longer?

Yeah definitely their fault. Good quality nails wouldn't be damaged from office work - especially so soon.

Of course they should last longer. I suspect the issue is in the application and the skill of the nail technician. You would expect them to be robust enough to deal with normal everyday tasks - such as typing. I would ask for a replacement or a refund. I use a keyboard and my gel extensions will last 3 or 4 weeks before they are in-filled.

I do gel nails, sculpted and tips. You definately shouldnt have extensions breaking within 3 days purely due to light office work. If they are actually snapping that would maybe suggest they haven't applied enough gel at the tip join or where the sculpted nail meets the natural. Are they quite thin?

Also would not recommend extending the nail to beyond an extra half the length of the nail bed - the longer they are the more likely they are to snap.

No way is it your fault! They shouldn't break after just 3 days of average office duties. I have had gel nail extensions 5 times over the last 2 years, and they have all lasted a fortnight before any breakages, and that is with me doing fairly heavyweight housework (e.g. cleaning sinks and shower unit, hoovering, washing floors, changing bed linen).
