DH Weird comments to Google Mini

Hi all,

Looking for some perspective about something which has made me feel a bit weird.

We have a very busy home life, with me and my dh both working shifts so we can be ships passing in the night. Throw in the mix DS6 and we do have barely anytime for each other, although we grab what we can.

Sex life has suffered, obviously, but when we get the chance it's amazing. Recently I've been the one to initiate, the one who sends the naughty texts, pictures etc. and he seems a bit 'off'. Then he will randomly get the urge and be all over me for one night.

Anyway, this is might be relevant to my AIBU. We have a google mini, we all use it to check the time, play music etc. My DS son couldn't remember a song DH had played using it, so we went on the google activity site because it logs it. Obviously it had all the usual, 'google, what time is it', 'google, play xxx' etc.

But there were several strange commands from this morning. I had dropped DS off to school and continued to a drs appointment, so these commands were said by DH.

These are some examples were:

you are a bad girl

what I would do to you

I want to make you more than blush

I confronted DH, and said what's with the strange comments to the google mini? He immediately looked embarrassed and then angry, and said why am I questioning how he's talking to a robot, that I have offended him by even asking and he was having a laugh.

Why has this made me feel so weird? Is it because he isn't saying these things to me, and I'm projecting my feelings about our sex life onto this bloody robot? Or would you be weirded out and questioning why you're husband is speaking this way to a robot, or is there more to it?

Please rationalise this for me and tell me if I am just being ridiculous for even questioning it?

It sounds like he was just messing about and was embarrassed to be caught. Bit weird, but we all do weird things when we think we’re alone and we wouldn’t want to be judged on those private moments.

theemmadilemma · 12/03/2020 13:27

That's bloody excellent. He's just embarrassed. That's funny though.

BritneyPeedOnALadybug · 12/03/2020 13:29

Your second reply puts in way more context. I too have Siri to Fuck Off when it doesn’t give me an answer I want to hear and have also did the “Android/Alexa is so much better than you are” 😂

SooticaTheWitchesCat · 12/03/2020 13:30

Loads of people have weird conversations with Alexa or Siri. The fact that they have witty answers shows how common it is.

He was embarrassed and angry because you made him feel silly.

Stop overthinking it

Graciebobcat · 12/03/2020 13:33

I couldn't be rude to Alexa or Siri. I'd feel sorry for them Blush

AcrossthePond55 · 12/03/2020 13:50

DH and I send ourselves into stitches asking Siri stupid questions.

Try asking "What is zero divided by zero?"

Don't overthink this.

OneForMeToo · 12/03/2020 13:53

Before you posted the rest I would of presumed it was picking up background chatter from a phone call/video but in context he was messing about.

happinessischocolate · 12/03/2020 23:42

"What is zero divided by zero?"

😂😂

calmama · 12/03/2020 23:46

Siri made me cry once. Bloody robots.

Minesabecks · 12/03/2020 23:50

He's cheating on you with your google home.

DeeCeeCherry · 13/03/2020 03:08

I can't recall the name of the phone assistant a few years back - male voice - but I would say rude, sometimes quite sexual stuff, just being silly messing around to see what response would be. As pp's have said, the set responses are funny especially in that deadpan robot voice.

Depends if you have/appreciate a silly sense of humour or not I suppose.

Try asking Alexa if she works for the CIA
