Our wonderful daughter is a month old on Sunday. I couldn't imagine life without her, she is truly perfect!

Am sure plenty of posters are having to cope with hellish RL difficulties in their private lives.

May not be "hunger or war", but there's plenty of fear involved with, for example, a loved one's very serious illness.

Perfectly possible to care deeply about global concerns, yet also want an occasional respite from multiple MN threads on c.virus/ bad weather etc.
They're not mutually exclusive.

We celebrated our DD2's 8th birthday on Monday and she's really excited about her party which will be on Saturday. Her excitement is infectious.

Yesterday was four years since I received some test results about having a faulty gene that will most probably affect my mobility - in four years I haven't noticed any changes and life is still pretty normal

I've bought my first house and am supposed to be signing for completion next week. (Hopefully!)

It's wiped out all my savings and I don't know if I will be able to move as soon as I expected depending on what happens with Covid but I'm very happy that I will soon have a secure home for me and DS.
