Kissing your kids on the lips

Have seen a couple posts about this on other SM sites.

Is it unreasonable to think it is absolutely ludicrous to think there is anything wrong with kissing your kids on the lips??

Curious on other people's thoughts.

My 12 year old dd would be mortified at anything other than a hug and a kiss on the head. I wouldn't dream of overriding that.

My DD stopped kissing me on the lips a few years ago when she was about 5 or 6, she naturally cringed from it after that so I stopped. This week she game me a kiss at bedtime and puckered up for my lips (she’s 8!) and it was absolutely lovely, showed a sign of trust and love in her. I wouldn’t go in for one though against her will or make the first move with it but if she wants one I’ll happily allow it.

I don't like it. I don't care what others do but for me, it's a romantic/sexual thing so I only kiss my husband on the lips.

I do but might stop after reading @crispysausagerolls post about the kids kissing the dog. Mine probably do that when I'm not looking.

YANBU 11yo DS still kisses me on the lips, DS1 (14) absolutely doesnt

My DD is in her 30s and still kisses me on the lips, my Son will kiss me o the cheek now that he is in his 20s, between the ages of 11 and 20 it was very very quick hugs only

I see nothing wrong with it! My 3yo grabs both sides of my face and kisses me on the lips with an impressive amount of force
I’m 25, and my grandma (in her 80’s) still plants one on me when we say hello and goodbye - she always has ever since I can remember!

I always kiss my DS on the lips (and everywhere else because he is adorable) but he isn’t quite 2 and a half

It’s weird IMHO.

It’s not even something you can put down to being “old fashioned” as I don’t remember anyone doing this when I was a kid.

My daughter is 16 and still gives me kisses on the lips!
Sometimes she'll squeeze my cheeks, give me a great big kiss on the lips and go "Mmwwaahhhh!" !
She's my daughter- any kind of affection at that age is lovely!

You would know - you would have a very traumatised looking dog 😂😁🤦🏻‍♀️
